- The college life is very good here. Most of the seniors are friendly and you can easily make your way out with help of them.
- The teachers here are highly educated and professional. Just by listening to them you can learn a lot in class.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure here is very old and the maintenance is very poor.
- There are limitations inside the campus like we cannot go outside the campus after 11pm and 1st years cannot go out their hostels after 9(for boys) and 8(for girls). Also there is no night canteen.
Remarks :
The institute offers tough academic training with experienced faculty, research, and well-equipped laboratories, particularly in core engineering disciplines.With students from across India, there is a blend of cultures, languages, and thoughts.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose this course due to my personal interest in aircrafts. I was always very curious about the physics behind flying objects. The teachers here are highly qualified and teach very well. There are two examinations per semester. The first one takes place almost after 1.5 months after the beginning of the semester and the second one takes place after 1.5 months after the completion of the first examination. The level of questions are moderate. If you have a good brain you can easily score a 8.5+ cgpa.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The year-wise tuition fees for general/obc/ews category students whose family income is above 5 lakhs, it is 62500 and for family income between 1 - 5 lakhs, it is 20833 and for family income below 1 lakh, it is exempted. For sc/st/pwd, the tuition fees is exempted. Other fees applicable per semester are admission and registration fee, students activity fee, infrastructure maintenance fee and examination fees, which cost 500, 500, 2500 and 1000 respectively. The institute's caution money is 3000 which is refundable.
Campus Life :
A lot of fest happen here. REBECA is the prestigious annual cultural festival here, one of the oldest cultural fests in India. It is a lively platform for students to express their talents in different art forms, such as music, dance, drama, and literature. Instruo is the techno-management fest that takes place every year here, which was started in 2009. It has a wide range of events that combine technology and management, including technical quizzes, parliamentary debates, hackathons, and creative challenges like filmmaking and treasure hunts. These are the two major fests. Apart from this there are departmental fests too, like Metallum, Abhiyantrix, Impetus, Udbhavni and a few more.
Hostel Facilities :
I live in a hostel. The mess fee is 21500 per semester. Compared to other colleges, this is cheap. But the quality of food is very bad. Like really bad. The menu is prepared by the students themselves. If the student who is giving the menu has good knowledge then it is fine otherwise some students have a really bad choice and then the food is not edible. The registration process is very easy. After taking admission, you can apply for a hostel. If you are under the criteria of getting a hostel, then you will get a hostel. It totally depends on the distance, meaning the distance between the college and their permanent address. For boys, the distance should be more but for girls it is less. The capacity for boys is around 400(1st years) and for girls it is 150(1st year). I don't have much knowledge about a PG or a flat, but I have heard from day scholars that there are a number of PGs and flats available nearby.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
