- The campus is at the heart of Kolkata and you can get a lot of stuff nearby. The canteens are good and there is a large sports ground as well.
- There are multiple activities being organised by the clubs throughout the year. Different people with different interests can participate.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure is poor. Since the fees is low and the central government has withheld funds there are not a lot of facilities.
- There is a lot of political activity that happens inside the campus. This disrupts the academic flow.
Remarks :
A person has to give the WBJEE examination to get entry into JU. It is a reputed university and the placements are good. The return on investment is the best among colleges in India. I also got entry into my preferred department (CSE). To get entry into the CSE department you need a rank of about 200 in WBJEE. I didn't prepare specifically for WBJEE as I was prepearing for the JEE. That helped me crack WBJEE.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I was interested in computer science beforehand and the college had a good placement record as well. The faculty are vastly knowledgeable and experienced. Each semester lasrs about 4.5 months. We have 2 internal assessments, 1 lab exam and 1 end semester exam. The tuition fees and other fees is minimal. The exams are of moderate difficulty and the checking is very strict.
Internships Opportunities :
Google hires for the role of a Software Engineering Intern. The stipend is 1.2 lakhs. Morgan Stanley hires for the role of Technical Analyst intern with a stipend of 87000 per month. Deutsche Bank hired for the role of Software Developer intern with a stipend of 75000.
Placement Experience :
For most companies you need to have a GPA of above 8 to be eligible to sit for their recruitment drive. Big companies like Wells Fargo, Oracle, Warner Bros, Salesforce, Google, Morgan Stanley, Razorpay, etc. visit during the placement and internship season. 100% of the students in my department get placed. The highest CTC was 54lpa.
Campus Life :
We have 2 fests, Sanskriti and Srijan which are conducted in the months of March and April. We have a central library as well as a departmental library which are well stocked with books, journals and research papers. All classrooms are equipped with projectors. We have interdepartmental sports activities once a year. Besides, we also have clubs for mountaineering, fashion, etc. A lot of flats are available for rent near the campus. The hostel charges per month are Rs. 25 but the amenities are not good.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
