- Large campus with greenery all around and any and all facilities a student might want is provided inside the campus.
Dislikes
- The college is situated in a small town that is very far from Kolkata city where airports and other infrastructure are located in, so that poses a lot of challenges and difficulties.
Remarks :
For medical physics, this was one of the best options available for me, I joined the institute after clearing JAM Physics and the cut-off rank for general in 2023 was around 550. A year of JAM preparation will be more than enough to achieve a good enough rank to get into this course.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course as it had good job prospects and research opportunities right after my master's. The faculty is excellent in the classes;, they are very caring and try to help you and guide you through every step. There is a mid-sem exam in the middle of the semester and there is a comprehensive viva at the end of every year. The difficulty of exams depends entirely on the faculty, most of them are on the average scale of difficulty while a few are very hard. Including the hostel, overhead fees, and everything, the cost might be around 1.2Lakhs a year. You get? 1000/month stipend and if you join for PhD you get ? 5000/month for the time you spent studying master's accumulated at the same time.
Internships Opportunities :
Compulsory internship at Tata Medical Center during first-year winter vacation in December for 3 weeks. For my summer internship, I got into an accelerator center under their health physics department where I found myself but the department was very helpful by providing a stunning letter of recommendation directly from HoD and the Faculty Advisor.
Campus Life :
The campus is very aesthetic and large with a lot of places to explore inside the campus covering an area of more than 2000 acres. There are clubs and groups for almost everything you can imagine. There is a common swimming pool, gyms at every hostel, and one common large one. There are grounds and courts for all sports you could want to play. I got single rooms with air conditioning but only a few students got into it, the food was just edible nothing too good or bad.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.

There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
