- The college faculty is too good. Specially the professors of Electronics and Telecommunication department are very passionate about study and we are free to ask any problem with them.
- Our college not only focuses on academics but also the total development of a student so they can also play games and do cultural activities.
Dislikes
- The hostels need renovation as soon as possible, the buildings are too old.
- The food quality needs to be improved and there is a little bit problem of water too for some of the students.
Remarks :
IIEST, Shibpur is an institute where one can get a Btech degree by qualifying for JEE Mains. I get 97 percentile and hence I get here the admission. Here I need to mention some good and bad aspects of our college. firstly I talk about the good aspects of our college - 1. Our college has a campus of about 220 acres so one is free to roam inside the college campus. 2. Our college faculty is very serious about academics. Professors are sincere here. 3. One can go to the river bank of the Ganges for a fresh mind after college hours and go back to study again. 4. Kolkata city is very close to our college so you can even go on trips on vacation and you can have a great college life. Now I will talk about the bad aspects of our college - 1. Except for Computer Science, Information Technology and Electronics and Telecommunication other departments do not get that high package. 2. The public transport of Howrah is not that much available at night. 3. The college hostels are too old.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose the course in IIEST, Shibpur because I like the branch Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. This is the only branch that allows you guidance in choosing a coding field and you can study networking here. If in the future you feel your interest in the coding field it will be very easy to compete with others. Even the core placements are good and because a major part of students go for the coding field the core competition is a little less and you can be hired in ISRO, NASA, and many other institutes. In IIEST, Shibpur you have to give 2 exams per semester. One is mid semester exam and the other is End semester exam. Every semester is for 4 months duration.
Campus Life :
In IIEST Shibpur the life of a student is overall good. All the departmental fests are there and our main fest is REBECA and all of them are conducted in January-February and March-April. There is a library in our institute and the availability of books is sufficient, students go and study there using the wi-fi. In IIEST, Shibpur there are 17 different cultural clubs including DEBSOC, LITSOC, Les Thespian etc. The sports faculty is also good. Many sporting events are there including inter-hostel tournaments, inter-department tournaments, and many more. Here you are free to play Football, Cricket, Table Tennis, Volleyball. Here Hostels are a little old. The condition of the hostels and bathrooms is not very well. Even the food is not that much good. The menu can be done by the students their selves. But do not worry much because a 1000 seater hostel is under construction so the problems will be sorted out very soon.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.

Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
