- Faculties are highly educated. Most of them are PhD.
- Campus life is really enjoyable. 7 canteens are there. Playing ground, indoor games, auditoriums are there. Lots of fests are conducted throughout the year.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure is not up to the mark. Some labs are non functional.
- Lots of political agendas hamper the flow of the college.
Remarks :
It was my dream to join this college. As it is a very respected college. I also liked the course curriculum of Production Engineering. We have to take the WBJEE exam. The cut-off for CSE at JU is almost 100 Out of 200.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Infrastructure is a little bad in JU, but there's no concern about the lab facilities. Sports ground is available. The faculties are very good but there's a problem about language barrier. Non-Bengalis face a little problem here.
Internships Opportunities :
Generally, people do one internship in 3rd year, but for core branches, there's an opportunity to opt for another industrial training in 2nd year. On-campus internship starts during 3rd year. Most of the internships are paid. Companies like Airbus, Aditya Birla Group, and Texas Instruments come for on-campus internships.
Placement Experience :
The placement scenario is awesome here. This year the highest CTC is from IT, it 1.4 Cr per annum. 100 % placement in three branches. This year lots of students were placed in Core companies. Even from arts and science faculty, students got placed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
We have to pay 2400 per year. The fee is half for TFW. Alumni Association Scholarship, SVMCM, Free ship of college fees is available. Our college is ranked 4th in the NIRF ranking. Alumni Association Scholarship is 3 to 10 thousand, SVMCM is 60000, and Free shipping means that you don't have to pay college fees.
Campus Life :
Campus life is at another level here. It is a very culturally enriched campus. Lots of clubs here- Mechatronics Club, Mountaineering Club, Photography Club, E-Cell, Music Club, Dance Club, Motorsports Club, etc.
Hostel Facilities :
Although it is a nonresidential university, hostels are available here. Hostel rent is 25/- per month only. Total mess fees per month are around 1600/-. Good food is served in the hostel. Though some of the hostels are old, new hostels with better infrastructure are also there.

Placement Experience :
Placements are not being offered from our college solely. But internship is being offered in the last 6 months mandatory for the completion of the four year course. The placement thing is solely on you like how capable are you to get into one hospital. But this college has nothing to do with it.

One should not be have any backlogs to sit for campus placements and should keep a decent GPA as many companies puts a cut off GPA. Placements are very decent and almost 70 percentage gets placed many of the others gets into higher studies

Student should not have any Backlog and Minimum 60% throughout academics , those who qualify this criteria they can be part of placement drive. Cognizant - 12 , TCS - 4, Bavistech - 8, Utah Tech Labs - 15. Highest - 9 LPA , Average - 3.5 LPA Around 30% student got placed. I got placed and after getting degree i will join that compnay.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.

Placements are for MSc batch only. Last year the highest package was 28LPA from Citi Bank, Gurgaon. Majorly hiring companies that come in FETSU for placements only come to maths dept in SFSU. Packages offered here are based on qualities. It decent.
