SIT Pune Courses and Fees

Students can pursue a four-year B.Tech, a two-year M.Tech or an Engineering Ph.D at SIT Pune. The undergraduate choices span core and newer engineering fields, while postgraduate courses focus on specific technology areas. Course duration, entry requirements and total fees are listed below. A diploma in a relevant engineering field allows students to apply for the three-year lateral entry B.Tech programme. Depending on the branch, its total fee ranges from INR 9,56,000 to INR 11,90,000. For both CSE and AI-ML, the lateral entry fee is INR 11,90,000.

SIT Pune Admission Process

JEE Main and MHT-CET scores form the basis of B.Tech selection at SIT Pune. The Maharashtra Centralised Admission Process (CAP), which allocates seats through counselling rounds, covers 85% of the intake under the government quota. Direct management quota admission accounts for the remaining 15%.

B.Tech Eligibility and Application Steps

Applicants must pass Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The minimum aggregate is 50%, reduced to 45% for reserved categories. A valid JEE Main result or MHT-CET PCM score is required. The subject-level requirement also specifies a minimum of 45% in Physics and Mathematics at Class 12 level.

• Take MHT-CET PCM or either the January or April session of JEE Main.
• For government quota admission, create a CAP registration on the Maharashtra CET Cell portal.
• Complete document verification and enter course and institute preferences in the option form.
• Follow the CAP rounds to check seat allocation.
• After receiving a seat, report to SIT Pune and pay the required fees.

Students seeking a management quota seat submit their applications to SIT Pune directly. CSE admission through MHT-CET CAP is competitive among Maharashtra engineering institutions in the NIRF top 50. In recent admission cycles, General Category applicants to CSE and AI-ML have typically needed a MHT-CET percentile between 95 and 99.

M.Tech and Ph.D Selection

For M.Tech, students need at least 50% marks in a relevant B.Tech or B.E. degree. Selection accepts GATE or the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) for Engineering, with SET serving as an alternative for some M.Tech courses. Ph.D applicants must hold an M.Tech or M.E. with 55% marks and complete SIT's selection process, including a written examination and an interview.

SIT Pune Placements

The Training and Placement Cell organises recruitment drives on campus. Employers come from technology product businesses, service companies and core engineering industries. CSE, AI-ML and E-TC are particularly active branches in campus recruitment.

During 2025, B.Tech graduates received an overall average package of INR 9 LPA, where LPA means lakh per annum. The largest domestic offer was INR 27 LPA. AI-ML had the highest branch average at INR 10.40 LPA, followed by CSE at INR 9.78 LPA.

Recent recruiters include Accenture, Deloitte, Oracle, Philips India, Apple Retail and Microsoft. SIT Pune Rankings

SIT Pune Campus and Infrastructure

At Symbiosis Knowledge Village in Lavale, students study in the Sahyadri foothills within Mulshi Taluka, Pune. Central Pune lies 25 kilometres away. Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT Pune) and MIT College of Engineering (MITCOE) are common alternatives for Maharashtra students considering SIT Pune. These three private engineering institutions are based in Pune and appear in NIRF rankings. Their academic arrangements include university affiliation and membership of deemed universities.

Among private engineering colleges in Pune, SIT leads on its NIRF Engineering position, while the Symbiosis name supports its placement profile.
