DTU B.Tech Admission 2026

DTU admits B.Tech students through JAC Delhi counselling. The allotment depends on JEE Main rank, category and quota status. The counselling process includes four main rounds and one spot round.

All 19 B.Tech specialisations follow the same basic academic rule. Students must meet the Class 12 subject requirement and also have a valid JEE Main Paper-I score.

DTU B.Tech Selection Process 2026

DTU does not conduct a separate written test or interview for B.Tech admission. JAC Delhi uses rank, category and quota details to allot seats.

• All-India quota allotment is based on the JEE Main All-India CRL rank. Delhi quota allotment is based on the Delhi CRL rank.
• Students enter their preferred university and branch combinations during choice filling. The same locked list is used for all four main rounds.
• Each round allots seats according to rank, category and domicile or school location status.
• A student can wait for a better preference in later rounds. Once a seat is frozen, upgradation stops and the admission is confirmed for that choice.
• After every round result, students allotted seats must report to the allotted college for physical document checking within the given window.
• The Spot Round is held for seats left vacant after Round 4. Spot Round registration and reporting take place in the same period.

Key Insight: For the Delhi quota, DTU checks where the student completed Class 12, not the home address. A Class 12 school in Delhi NCT makes the student eligible for the Delhi quota. Students should check the school category on the JAC Delhi portal before registration to avoid a quota mismatch.

How to Apply for B.Tech at DTU?

Students seeking B.Tech admission at DTU must use the JAC Delhi portal. A separate DTU application is not needed for this course.

1. Appear for JEE Main Paper-I conducted by NTA. Results are usually announced by April.
2. Register at jacdelhi.admissions.nic.in when JAC Delhi opens registration, expected in May 2027.
3. Upload the JEE Main scorecard, Class 12 mark sheet, category certificate if required and proof related to domicile or school location.
4. Pay the JAC Delhi registration fee online.
5. Fill and lock the list of preferred university-branch combinations. This locked list is used in all four main rounds.
6. Check the JAC Delhi portal after each round for seat allotment results.
7. If a seat is allotted, report to the assigned college during the reporting period with all original documents.
8. Pay the seat acceptance fee at the college to confirm the allotment for that round.
9. Take part in later rounds for a higher preference, or freeze the seat for final admission.

DTU M.Tech Admission 2026

DTU manages M.Tech admission directly through its own admission process, separate from JAC Delhi. For regular M.Tech seats, a valid GATE score in the relevant paper is the main requirement.

Applicants without GATE can be considered under the sponsored or self-financed route only after GATE-category seats remain vacant after the merit list process.

DTU M.Tech Selection Process 2026

DTU prepares merit lists for M.Tech admission. GATE-qualified applicants and non-GATE sponsored or self-financed applicants are handled through separate merit lists.

• The relevant GATE paper score is the first basis for selection. A higher score gives the student a better merit position.
• Applications are submitted branch-wise. The required GATE paper changes according to the M.Tech specialisation.
• Vacant seats may open for non-GATE sponsored candidates only after seats from the GATE merit list are filled or exhausted.
• DTU does not include group discussion or personal interview rounds in the M.Tech selection process.

How to Apply for M.Tech at DTU?

M.Tech applicants must apply on DTU's admission portal. JAC Delhi is not used for this programme.

1. Take GATE 2027 in the paper linked to the chosen specialisation. GATE is held in January to February every year.
2. Visit dtu.ac.in when DTU starts M.Tech applications, expected in March to April 2027.
3. Complete the online form and upload the GATE scorecard, qualifying degree mark sheets and category certificates.
4. Pay the M.Tech application fee online through the DTU portal.
5. Check the GATE merit list published by DTU on the admissions portal.
6. Join counselling or seat allotment as per the schedule released by DTU.
7. Report with original documents within the given deadline to accept the seat.

DTU MBA Admission 2026

DTU offers MBA admission through Delhi School of Management. The process is run by CMAC, which is a common admission system for DSM DTU, School of Management NSUT and USME IGDTUW.

The combined intake under CMAC is 270 seats. DSM DTU considers CAT first, followed by MAT and CMAT only after eligible CAT candidates have been placed.

DTU MBA Selection Process 2026

DSM DTU first shortlists applicants using entrance exam percentile. Shortlisted students then move to the next evaluation rounds.

• Stage 1: CAT applicants are considered first and seats are filled by merit. MAT applicants are taken up after that, and CMAT applicants are considered for seats still available.
• Stage 2: Shortlisted students appear for Group Discussion, GD, and Personal Interview, PI, at DSM DTU.
• The final merit list uses entrance exam score, GD performance, PI performance, graduation record and Class 12 academic record.
• Work experience is not required, but relevant experience may help during the PI stage.

How to Apply for MBA at DTU (DSM)?

MBA applications for DSM DTU are submitted through the CMAC portal. Students do not apply through DTU's separate admissions page for this programme.

1. Appear for CAT, MAT or CMAT for the admission cycle. CAT is held every November and gets first preference.
2. Register at cmacadmissions.com when the application window opens, expected in April 2027.
3. Choose DSM DTU as the preferred institution while filling the CMAC form.
4. Upload the entrance exam scorecard, graduation mark sheets, Class 12 mark sheet and category certificates.
5. Pay the CMAC application fee online.
6. Wait for the shortlist released by CMAC or DSM DTU.
7. Attend GD and PI at the DTU campus on the date shared by DSM DTU.
8. Check the merit list and complete fee payment and admission formalities if selected.

DTU Scholarships

DTU students may apply for different scholarship and fee-support schemes. Many of these schemes are run by government departments and the amount is usually sent through Direct Benefit Transfer to a bank account linked with Aadhaar.

• Post-Matric Scholarship (SC/ST): This is for SC and ST students whose family income is below INR 2,50,000 per year. Depending on the income slab, it can cover part or all of the tuition and other fees.
• Merit-cum-Means Scholarship (MCM): Students with good academic performance and family income below INR 4,50,000 per year can apply. The tuition fee waiver ranges from 25% to 100%, based on income and merit.
• Central Sector Scholarship (CSS): Students in the top 20 percentile of their Class 12 board are eligible. The scholarship amount is INR 10,000 per year for the first three years and INR 20,000 in the fourth year.
• Delhi Government OBC Scholarship: This scheme is for OBC-NCL students who are domiciled in Delhi. The Delhi Social Welfare Department decides the amount and eligibility rules.
• Minority Community Scholarship: Students from notified minority communities can apply through the National Scholarship Portal.

Applications for central and state scholarship schemes are submitted at scholarships.gov.in. Scheme-wise deadlines differ and are usually announced between October and December every year.
