Read Full ReviewYes we can apply for placement and jobs but on our own as in our 8 semester we go for an internship it is about three four month we have to apply for the internship on your own and we get to know work experience there it can be paid or unpaid both it depends upon which company you are going
Because I found this degree very interesting and it's very demanding and helpful and it will grow in near future . The selection of students in our batch was through ICAR percentile cut off . I was preparing for some exams and I thought to give ICAR exam also
Read Full ReviewPlacement and internships are not provided by a college we are just applying for that and we are telling them and they are sending the mails so we have to only search for the internships but now the things are changing and their trying to give opportunity of students to give internships placements are not here

Read Full ReviewI don't know what about these but I think those who are being selected by the professors are being given the opportunity for the placements and the internship and others have to dig it up themselves .
According to graduation base it is very good college but for rnd it is okay okay . We have equipments for labs but for the use of time you don't have any particular person. But it is being improved. Admission process you have to appear for CUET exam and have to get good percentile. But I was being selected according to ICAR percentile. You should get every document from your caste certificate to bonafide to character certificate and all of your marksheets. And the percentile marksheet also.
Read Full ReviewThe placement cell in the university is not very active and most students do not prefer to take up jobs from there due to poor offers. Most students tend to prefer government job preparations or pursue higher studies. There are no internship programs offered by the university
I had appeared for the ICAR exam to take admission in this college, but now students will have to appear in the CUET exam to secure seats, the preparation of which would not be very difficult for students appearing for NEET and JEE exams. The counselling process to take admission in this college happens in 3 to 4 rounds in which documents are verified
Read Full ReviewCampus placements are not there. But there is a wide scope of opportunities after graduation. As one can start practicing as a vet in private clinics with salary of around 25000/- per month in starting. But after completing post graduation this salary increases to 70 to 80,000 /- per month in starting and keeps on increasing with experience Yearly placement as veterinary officers is also there but it is late one can appear for commission exam and get placed as VO earlier Other opportunities are also there like nutritionist in animal farms. One can do MBA after veterinary and can join companies which provides huge packages.
I faced National eligibility cum entrance test that is (NEET) for admission in college. There is a state councelling which accounts for 85% of total seats The cut-off for which started from 508 marks in NEET in 2022 Then in 2023 it was 534 marks . Then there is all India councelling conducted by VCI (placement is random the least cut-off in 2022 was 434 and highest was 585) accounts for 15% of total seats. Self financed seats is also there that cost around 10 lakhs(buying seat)+ 3lakhs(fees) (cut-off for SFS varies year to year) The factors which made me chose this college were One of the best veterinary Colleges in India for academics it is on top of most veterinary Colleges in India . Location is beautiful and so is the campus. Affordability is good that is around 3lakhs for entire degree along with hostel expanses. Bads- . Less exposure in clinics (mostly dogs come to clinics) . Infrastructure was built for lesser students but seats increased thus hard to manage sometime
Read Full ReviewThough there is a placement cell in the university but it is not very active and the companies that come with job offers do not provide with very handsome salaries. Most students do not prefer to take up jobs from the University placement program. There are no internship programs offered by the university but if students want they can take up internships outside.
Students had to appear for the ICAR exam to take admission in this university and I also did. Now students have to appear for CUET exam conducted at all India level. There are 3-4 counselling sessions conducted in the university itself for admitting students where document verification and everything takes place.
Read Full ReviewThough there are campus placements offered to students, the offers are not very lucrative for students. The agriculture-based companies coming to the campus offer low salaries and the eligibility criteria for placement also do not exist. Though there are many job opportunities for agriculture students given the diversity in courses like field work, research work, banking etc. Government job opportunities like AEO and ADO, forestry department of the administrative services, NBARD etc. One can also wish to pursue Agribusiness management which is a specialisation course in MBA meant for agriculture students.
I had appeared for the ICAR exam to gain admission to this university but now one must appear in the CUET exam to gain admission here. If one has prepared for NEET or JEE then the exam would not be very difficult to crack. The cut-off for normal seats goes very high, as low as the 90 percentile but those seats are limited and less, and the self-financed seats can have a cut-off as low as 65 percentile. For admission, a notification is announced on the university website after the results of the CUET exam and counselling is done in separate phases in which the students can appear. All students are free to appear in any rounds of counselling.
Read Full ReviewCourse --> I liked agriculture from the very start but my family wants me to become doctor. So I applied for NEET but due to failure, I joined CSKHPKV Palampur college. I got my dream college but at the cost of my family's dream. Teaching method --> It is the same as other colleges. Teachers come, project the ppt in the lecture theatre, speak what is inside the PPT, and leave. This is not a very interesting method. I like it if teachers add a little spice to their teaching style. Some teachers do add some spice and I love their teaching style. Overall teaching is great for me here. Exams --> There are 3 exams in a semester i.e. mid-term, practical term, and term examination. Mid-term is quite difficult to crack but rest 2 are relatively easy to crack. Exams are conducted after 1-2 months of teaching. Scholarship --> There are various government-related scholarships in this university. Overall if you are a top student, you might be able to waive your semester fees through this scholarship programme.
Various factors helped me choose this college: 1. Rating of the college (#11 in ICAR Universities listing). 2. Good Infrastructure. In Google Photos, I viewed a few pictures and thought it was a great college. 3. Place of University i.e. Palampur ( very cool and friendly environment ). 4. Close to my home place. but as we say every coin has 2 sides, there are a few bad aspects too like: 1. The playing area is not well maintained 2. Administration is very slow to act and process Admission Process --> At my time, we have to take the ICAR AIEEA UG exam. I have scored 90% percentile which led to admission to this college. I was an SC student, so my admission was done on a quota basis. Overall the process is simple and easy to follow. Preparation --> Same as NEET syllabus but questions asked are very easy as compared to NEET.
Read Full ReviewThe university has ties with mother dairy, iffco, Verka, etc. providing placements to students. The highest package would be 16 lakhs and average is 5-6 laks annually.. students percentage of getting placement is about 34%.. I will be aiming for PhD and AFO as well as ADO exam...
I graduated from this university so doing my masters from the same was a better option for me... The admission for masters in this university is based on the icar pg jrf exam. Students have to pay a fee and register on its website www.hillagric.ac.in , the fee has two option one for the general non paid seats and the other is self financing seat in which student have to pay 40k extra each semester.. The merit list will be made and released after few days of registeration. On the given date of acceptance of admission in the college student have to fill up form which will be made available on the website... Make two copies of it with 10th and 12th marksheet , PDC , character certificate and migration and sports nl, NCC and nss certificate if you have any.. Himachal bonafide students will get first preference and in this also bsc agriculture will be preferred over bsc horticulture .... This university has great emphasis on academics and practicals.
