What I Liked

Infrastructure is top notch as for Science College.
Faculty are like family and friends in the college .

What I didn’t like

I really don't like how this college is treated even though it provides a lot of good stuffs.

Placement Experience:

Basically it is not a professional couriers but it provides some entrance exams for best colleges around India and provides yearly teaching jobs as Science is a rare stream or most of the science students prefer professional couriers.

Internships Opportunities:

I will be doing an internship next year and I hope that it will be good and most of my senior are very good at teaching and practical experience because of internship to schools pharmacies and more ..

Sikkim University "A University in the lap of Hills"

What I Liked

Library is the top utmost and well cared and well maintained in the whole state.
Department are also well maintained and faculties are really humble and gentle.

Placement Experience:

My plans after getting the degree is to go for the post of Assistant Professor in Central University or State University,or any Private University and do more research, write more articles and do more publications.

It was good feeling to write something about my college

What I Liked

I like that my college campus is so clean
And faculty of my own department and others are also good

What I didn’t like

Like their shortage of water in our college
The washroom is also the main problem for the students

Placement Experience:

Their is no placement given by the college but their is good percentage of geeting employees and average package of salary is like it's minimum of 15000 and my plans after college is like I want to study more further

Internships Opportunities:

The I have done internship after completing my school it's was in travel agency and in hotel and it's was amazing experience and we have learnt so many things in field work than studying in school and we enjoyed our internship

An Overview of Sikkim University

What I Liked

The faculty is amazing. They have a lot of real experience that helps us learn from them. They are approachable and take care of the doubts in a good way.
The Library facilities are excellent with access to a wide journal database. The printing facilities are affordable too.
The region is peaceful and refreshing. The people are generally non-judgemental.

What I didn’t like

No campus leads to a bad inter-student interaction.
Some administrative processes like scholarships are generally delayed.

Placement Experience:

The placements are not highlighted as most students apply for jobs in a wide range of off-campus sites. My plans after getting the degree is to clear NET and continue with my education as a PhD scholar.

Internships Opportunities:

Yes. I had worked with specially-abled kids where we had to overlook their activities and aid with their learning. Itwas a clinical setting and the other opportunities are with the STNM hospital and Manipal Hospital where we have to pay Rs. 2000 and Rs. 15000 respectively.

What I Liked

I like the library room and the ICT room
I like the way faculty members support us in every steps

What I didn’t like

Their is no any play ground in our college
Lack of sports activities in our college

Placement Experience:

Their is no placement after the completion of course we have to apply to any school by ourselves whenever the govt provide interview for the teacher we can apply in that we have to faced interview to get this job

Internships Opportunities:

We were sent to do internship in school of our state but we did not get any TADA for that we have arrange by ourselves we were send to different school their will be two internship in the course

My 2 years in Sikkim University.

What I Liked

As it is currently running in rented buildings my department is in gangtok which is a tourist place and I love to visit different places during my college time.
The faculty is also very good and qualified always help if one asked for it.

What I didn’t like

I dislike the student executive body there, they just participate in election won and do politics only. They didn't do anything for the students.
Dead placement cell is the biggest disappoint that I got. Opportunity to get job is not there.

Placement Experience:

There is a placement cell there but administration is not interested in this things. Placement is inactive from past 6-7 years that I got to know from the seniors. So, i am planning to search jobs through different portals that are present there.

Internships Opportunities:

Yes, internship is compulsory to do in the curriculum but not assistance is provided in finding the internship. Student neet to find it by themselves. I got opportunity to work as an HR INTERN in ITC Ltd. Haridwar uttarakhand, there I did a project on employee engagement.

A review on Sikkim University

What I Liked

The university is peaceful, never heard of any fights and chaos.
Faculty members are very cooperative and guide us very well .

What I didn’t like

University runs on rented buildings and the campus is not completed yet
Due to high tourist fall in Gangtok, heavy traffic jam occurs which leads to delay in reaching classrooms.

Placement Experience:

Placement cell was not active till last year so no placement happened but the new students union took the initiative to open the placement cell ,till now now auch placement happened. But everyone is hoping that this year placement will take place

Living the law

What I Liked

The diversity is so good I mean we are 12 students from different states it's like a minuscule of India in one.
The place Sikkim is itself super good for keeping our mind fresh and hassle-free. Also the environment is best to study.

What I didn’t like

The bus service can be problematic at times as you have to keep an eye on the GPS tracker provided by the University and also the library doesn't have widest variety of books so you've to mostly rely on internet but wifi service is provided.
The campus doesn't have a canteen since the departments is all over the place and there is only one canteen which is in a distance and we can't travel just to have lunch.

Placement Experience:

So the University doesn't have any sort of Placement Cell however the student body has assured that they will make it work and resume it soon. But as of now not having Placement benefit is a disadvantage. However, if you're good enough to crack NET exams and some other entrances than even some of the private universities can take us into consideration. I'm planning to crack NET and continue with PhD if I get a chance otherwise I'll have to crack good amount of entrances.
