Our college is west bengal's top college but there has some issues which is completely not good to us. Our department teachers are very good to us, but other department like economics Their Hod do very rough behaviour to all. She has been traumatized me, she's the worst teacher I've ever seen. But there also in the other side philosophy department teachers and women studies department teachers are very good they taught us as we thought.

Read Full ReviewThere is a career counselling and placement cell, but frankly, there is no use for them, since there are no placements provided by our college. Sometimes if you are an excellent student, you are referred to another prestigious college for further studies. I would personally like to pursue a Master after the completion of my degree from another uni.
Lady Brabourne College is one of the most reputed Government girls' colleges which provides a very safe environment for female students. The geography department of my college is amazing, so I opted for it. The admission is merit-based, where the criteria used are your class 12 marks and your domain subject marks. There are no interview rounds. The cutoff generally increases every year, and it is advised to score around 93-94 minimum in your domain, and around 95-96% on your boards for guaranteed admission for the general students. SC at least 90% on boards, and ST at least 70-73%. The admission process is pretty smooth. The only bad aspect of the admission process is that you'll have to do it all by yourself, and there is not much help or guidance from the professors or office staff unless asked.
Read Full ReviewThe general science courses of Calcutta University do not offer campus placements but the students are always welcome for off-campus placements and internships. The general sciences are mainly focused on research purposes, pushing the students for further higher studies such as master's and doctorate programs. I am focused on research so I went on to pursue the master's degree.
First of all, there is no admission test for graduation courses in Lady Brabourne College, which is under the affiliation of Calcutta University. Admission is based on merit, the marks of 12th board exams. Lady Brabourne College is one of the most prestigious colleges in the state and the admission process is pretty competitive. I chose Lady Brabourne College for its excellent faculty, great laboratory facilities, and overall high standard of the botany department. The course curriculum is thoroughly followed and the professors are excellent educators. The practicals, lab work, and class work are very well taught and they will make a very strong base for further studies as well. There is regular field work for hands-on experience as mentioned in the curriculum which is essential for students. But at the same time, there is a lot of pressure in BSc courses, and in the semester system, there's not enough time to learn and process everything.LBC holds its reputation as a top college.
