- The hostels are nowadays not pest free and cleanliness needs to be maintained further
- The academic load is high and thus I didn't get the expected college life I had imagined
Remarks :
There was only an examination called Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) with a prerequisite Joint Entrance Examination (Mains) to qualify for courses in the college. There was no GD or PI. Cutoffs were around 90% in mains to write advanced and in advanced, my AIR was 6578 so I could qualify for BTech in Civil Engineering in this college. There was a counselling process called Joint seat allocation where I was given the choices of colleges and courses to choose from. I chose this college as it had the non academic factors like language, food and climate in my favor and I am well interested into the course offered. One of the things I don't like about my college is the over hype for extra academic activities.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course due to my profound interest since childhood in the field of Civil Engineering. The faculty are excellent in their qualifications as we have information about their career and achievements in their field. They teach their subjects quite well enough to understand if not the best. The term exams are just enough in their frequency for me to handle and the same goes for the difficulty level.
Placement Experience :
The students are eligible for placements by the beginning of their final year. The CGPA cutoff is 6 to sit for the placement drive conducted in campus. 70% of the students successfully get placed by the recruiters. The overall average package is 2393000 per annum. Highest package varies from 2 to 3 Crores per annum. Some of the recruiters include BCG, American Express, Honeywell, Microsoft and Google. The roles offered include Software developer, data analyst, business analyst, consultant among many others.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
My year-wise fees goes around 3 Lakhs out of which tuition fees comprise 2 Lakhs. Lab fees are a small part, some 2000 for the year. Library caution money is 2000 per year. Electricity and water comprise 2000, Hall budget 2000, Student welfare 2500, Modernisation 1400, Internet 1200, Hostel seat rent 1300, Mess Fees 29000, Hall establishment 36600, Admission fee 2000, Brotherhood fund 200, Alumni subscription 4000 and more. There exist fee waiver for students from SC/ST category, tuition fees are nil for them, for students whose family earns less than a certain amount per annum are given waivers too.
Campus Life :
There are the fests of Kshitij and Spring Fest in the month of January every year and departmental fests every March. The Central library in IIT Kharagpur is one of the largest in Asia with a lot of books, both academic and non-academic available for reading. Classrooms are equiped with all sorts of digital infrastructure for the professors to deliver their lectures efficiently. Sports are well promoted in campus with good infrastructure and our college consistently gets podiums every inter IIT sports meet. Most of the societies and clubs like Entrepreneurship Cell, Business Club, Institute Wellness Group and many more are run by students themselves.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel accommodation is compulsory for all students of the institute. It is a splendid single room for me but students are actually shuffled into single, double and triple accommodations. The menu can be arranged a bit better, getting all the tastier items to dinner so that we don't end up eating unhealthy before sleep. I have no objections on the quality and hygiene our workers maintain by their efforts.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
