As it is an IIT, first we have give Jee Mains and clear, it's cut-off (just cut-off is required to clear), and then give JEE Advanced and clear subject wise cut-off and get a good rank so that you can surpass cut-off rank of IIT Kharagpur and as well as of the branch you are aiming to choose. Then participate in Josaa Counselling, provide all the documents needed like Caste Certificate, Jee Advanced Scorecard, Adhaar Card etc. and then choose the colleges which you prefer to get admitted and wait till 6th round you get your college, confirm your seat. And then you will get provisional offer letter from your institute, visit that institute for other process and it's done. Good Aspect of IIT KGP: Each person, from workers to Prof has helping nature, there is so much brotherhood in the campus, you will not feel alone. Bad Aspect: You may have to compromise with food quality in mess, and also they lack in medical facilities, so keep your medicine kit always with yourself in campus.
I chosen E&ECE at IIT Kharagpur due to my interest in electronics primarily and then it's placements were also a factor. Professors here are highly qualified and very knowledgeable, there teaching methods are also good but might seem to be confusing initially, but you have to put efforts and then you will start catching things, and also doubt asking is a must-do thing which you have to do in class. Difficulty level of exams in my department, I would say moderate to hard and sometimes very hard that even toppers sometimes score 19/30, it depends on each professor also how they make their question, asking to a senior for a particular professor is very helpful. The semester exams are always timely unless their is something highly unavoidable thing has occured.
I haven't opted any internship as I am in First year. The internship is given to third based on training and performance, the roles also depend on the company and the department. My department generally offers roles VLSI and Embedded systems. In VLSI we generally have to work on design and Simulation, as no fabs available in India and in embedded systems we work with microcontrollers, their circuits etc.
Eligibility varies according to department and year. Recruiters like Qualcomm, Intel, Texas Instruments, NVIDIA, Micron, MediaTek, Analog Devices etc. often visit for Placements of my department that is E&ECE. There is no data how much a particular company's average and highest package offered. But in 2023-24 placement session highest package and average package offered were 1.4 Cr INR and 25-26 lakhs respectively for E&ECE department. Current placement session hasn't ended. The placement percentage for E&ECE department was 87.05% last placement session. I am going to into VLSI industry after getting my degree as we know the future tech heavily depends on semiconductor and VLSI areas.

Spring Fest: Generally in January, especially at the end of it Kshitij : Also typically takes place in January Shaurya sport's fest: Typically in October, but recent one was held in January, so dates might vary here Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES): This is also like a fest for Entrepreneurs, it usually occurs from January to February Central Library of IIT Kharagpur is one of the biggest owned by an Institute in India. It has lakhs of books and journals, from various domains like engineering, philosophy, science etc. The Nalanda Classrooms here (generally where classes takes place) are very spacious and also have facilities like ACs, projector , microphone , computer (Computer and mic are for Professors) etc. Extra-curricular here are highly fascinating as Socities here achieve milestones on international level. Almost all of them are run by students like PPGS, Spectra, Tech Comedy Club, Computer Graphics Society etc.
Infrastructure is mediocre of all the hostels in the Campus, but have all the facilities which are needed so no one goes for a PG. Mess food isn't that much good here sometimes, you may have to compromise with hygiene as well, but obviously if you find anything wrong then can complain to authorities. You will automatically get allotted a hall in ERP after the admission, and have to visit that hall for accomodation and allotment of a room.

Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
