Every year an exam called JEE Advanced is conducted, through which you can secure admission at IITs by obtaining a good rank. Additionally, you must pass your 10+2 with at least 75%. There are no other eligibility criteria. The admission process of IITs are very simple. You have to go through counselling process of JOSAA and then the institute is allotted. After that, a physical verification is done at the institute level. I prepared for JEE advanced for two years in class 11 and 12. The campus life, placements, academics are very good at IIT KGP. The one thing I think that can be improved is the gender ratio which is very bad at IIT KGP(1:5).
After clearing JEE Advanced, I got Mechanical Engineering at IIT Kharagpur. In most IITs, students don't always get the course they are interested in, rather it depends on their rank. In my case as well, I got this course based on my rank. But the course curriculum is relevant enough. Recently IIT KGP has changed its curriculum aligning it with AI. Most of the faculty members have done their Ph.Ds from various prestigious institutions across the world. Most of the professors teach on blackboard by writing things with chalk and they also make little use of PPTs. There are mid-semesters ,end-semesters and various class tests. Usually mid-sems carry 30% weightage and end-sems carry 50% weightage ,rest are in the hand of professors. Difficulty level is moderate.
Internship session starts before the placement session. Same companies which come for placements also come for internships. Average stipend is around 1.5-2 lakhs per month. Many students apply for off-campus internships.
There is CDC(Career Development Centre) which manages entire placement related activities. CDC conducts various sessions before placements and internships. There are many companies that visit our institute. The renowned companies are Google, Microsoft, Adobe, JP Morgan, BlackRock and many more. The highest package is usually in crores and average is around 15 LPA to 20 LPA. Almost 80% students get placed through CDC. I want to go to in tech field.
The year wise fees is almost 220000 excluding hostel fees. The tuition fee is around 200000. There is one time caution fee of 1000 and other fees sum to 5000 per year. If you are from SC/ST category or belong to a general category of family income less than Rs 100000/- the tuition fee will be waived off. There are various scholarships in the institute. Usually the scholarship amount is 60000/- per annum.
The campus offers a beautiful night-life. You can roam in the campus throughout the night and no one will ask a question. There is a specific event called 'Illumination' which happens during Diwali every year. It is an event of lights and considered as one of the most prestigious events of the institute. There are many clubs and societies run by students. There are many events such as hackathons, marathons, dances, musical performances and so on. There are two main fests, one is 'Kshitij'(Asia's largest techno-management fest) and the other is 'Spring Fest'. Both are held in the month of January.
There are around 21 hostels in institute (approximately 16 hostels for boys and 5 for girls). I live in 'Nehru Hall'. This is one of the oldest hostels in IIT KGP. Sundar Pichai also stayed here. There are facilities like Wi-Fi, cooler, geyser, LAN connection, etc. The mess food quality is average as most of the hostels. They serve food 4times a day (2 heavy meals and 2 light meals). Hostel and mess fee is usually around Rs 80000/- per year. We have to fill a form and submit it to the hall office for the registration.

Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
