Course Curriculum Overview:

The College follows the latest curriculum to train students for the outside world the College follows a similar curriculum as NIT Silchar as it is the mother college for NIT Nagaland. The faculties are very experienced working for almost 10 to 15 years. All the faculties have completed their PhD and are professionals in their fields. The exam pattern is so that there are mainly two exams mid-semester exams for 50 marks out of which 60 %of your aggregate score is taken under consideration and the End-semester exams for 100 marks out of which 50 % of your aggregate score is taken under consideration. These two exams finally add up to 80 marks and the rest 20 marks are based on one's performance in class or Test or assignment submission. The grading system is such that: Grade S: Cgpa 10, Grade A: Cgpa 9, Grade B: cgpa 8 Grade C: Cgpa 7, Grade D: CGPA 6, Grade E: Cgpa 5 and below, Grade U: Fail.

Remarks:

Clean and green environment, Easy Transportation as the Airport and Railway station are close to the college allowing students from other states to travel with ease, Placement Rates have been increasing rapidly, Student-Teacher Ratio is 1:30 on average, Various Programs, drills, and functions are held from time to time. The hostel is within the Campus, There is a mess review every month, The college provides high-speed wifi Cons on NIT Nagaland: Underdeveloped infrastructure, -Junior interaction is less, a lot of seats are left vacant during seat allocation, and The library capacity is less To get a seat in NIT NAGALAND one has to crack the JEE mains examination with a high percentile. The percentile varies each year depending on the number of students, the toughness of the question paper, etc. Then the Choice filling of College is done under Josaa counselling that lasts for nearly 2 months. And finally, the physical verification is done.

Placement Experience:

These days almost every department is allowed to sit in the placements if an IT company comes to hire up. If the core companies come, then only respective departments are allowed to sit. Minimum 70% you need to score in academics and you don't need to have any active backlogs during the time of placement. Some companies allow you to sit in campus placements if you have 1 or 2 active backlogs but at the time of joining you have to get them cleared. Companies such as HexaWare, Genpact, Deloitte, Alstom, Pie Infotech, L&T, Vedanta, Mahindra & Mahindra etcetera have come up to hire this year. The highest package is 13 lakhs and the average package is 6.5 lakhs this year. More than half of the students got their placements and some of them didn't as the companies are running on recison.

Remarks:

Factors I took into consideration at the time of choosing the college are the strength and atmosphere. Firstly, I did write the exam named JEE Mains and therefore I qualified to write JEE Advanced. Luckily, I have also qualified in JEE Advanced. I applied to counselling through JoSAA. The order of the colleges follows, at the very bottom put all those colleges which you get for sure, in the middle put all those colleges which you think you will get by chance and at the top put all those colleges which you think you want them but there is no chance of getting them. That's all. You are done.

Placement Experience:

The placement drive starts from the final year i.e. 7th semester. To be eligible for participating in the placement drive, one shouldn't have any backlog. There are 3 tiers namely tier 3 placement, tier 2 and tier 1 or dream tier.

Remarks:

Got admission through Josaa(appeared Jee) The academic year was good and fun but some days the schedule became hectic because of practicals. The campus is still under development but provides the basic needs Hostel life is fun(the best life) Mess is not so good but it depends from person to person

Placement Experience:

The placements and job opportunities are good. It starts during our 3rd year. I don’t know much personally since I didn’t apply for any placements. But I heard that the highest package that got offered was 15-16 lakh. And the average of 5-6 lakh. I am not sure. My plan after my degree is to take civil service exams.

Remarks:

The factors that made me choose this college were since NIT has good faculties and good teaching staff. I heard it from my friend who was my senior so I joined it up. Also, the job placements provided are better than those of the private sector. And since it is government funded, the infrastructure was good enough but compared to other NITs we are still lacking behind. But overall it was a good college. Group discussions were held during our class hours. At first, they gave us a topic to read and prepare whether we support or go against it. But later on, the professors used to give us the topic then and we had to come up with 3-4 points and discuss them among our colleagues. To get into NIT, I took JEE examination and got the cutoff for it.

Placement Experience:

The eligibility criteria for placement depend on the company. Most of the companies prefer students having s CGPA of 7.5-8.5 without any active backlog. Some of the recruiters of 2024 are ALSTOM, TCS, MeCon, Thoughtworks, GET, VEDENTA, etc. The average package is 7.5 LPA and the highest is 13.95 LPA. I'll be joining AlSTOM as a GET.

Remarks:

The National Institute of Technology Nagaland is overall good. The environment is very pleasant and it’s surrounded by Nature. We have to crack JEE to go to this college. Cut-off depends on different categories such as General, OBC, ST, and SC.

Placement Experience:

Any one from final year whoever meet company's eligibility criteria can apply for a job. I cannot mention placement percentage but I can surely assure the one with required skills definitely gets a good-paying job. In our the highest package is 18 lpa.

Remarks:

I didn't face any group discussions, interviews, or written tests for admission. You just need to write jee mains and apply for colleges with your preference during counseling. My jee mains rank and my interest in cse are two factors that made me join this college.

Placement Experience:

The eligibility criteria for placements were we have four levels for placement according to salary if we got selected at a higher level then we could not apply for the same and lower levels. If we get selected in the highest level then we have to check the higher package. This criterion was removed when 80% of students got placement. According to this college provides a decent opportunity for a job. I want to study further so I don't apply for a job.

Remarks:

For civil engineering it was a good college they made a separate library for civil engineering students. I got selected based on the JEE MAINS percentile. The Cut-off was the 80 percentile. I prepared for this exam in Allen Kota.

Placement Experience:

Placements in the National institute of technology Nagaland are average. The highest package offered is 13.5CTC for company Vedanta for the 2024 batch. A few visited recruiters are Genpact, Alstom, Deloitte, L&T, etc.

Remarks:

The only way to get admission for B.Tech at the National institute of technology Nagaland is through Jee Mains. Once we qualify for the examination, we can apply for Josaa counseling to get into IITs and NITs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because there are more opportunities for government jobs. There are scholarship facilities also available 1. below 1 lac full tuition fee refund 2. Between 1 lac to 5 lac 60% fee refund Also another scholarship facility is available from an SP portal for St sc students, as well as obc and EWS also.

Remarks:

I prepared for JEE mains for this college. My cutoff was 93 percentile. I chose this college because it is a nit. The aspect of my college is, first of all, we get a tag of nit college and second is the location of the college is very good. A bad aspect of my college is 1. The college is under construction 2. Insufficient classrooms

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent. Almost everyone gets placed here if you want a placement. Companies ranging from 3 lpa to 21-22 lpa come here every year. Some very large packages are also offered but nobody gets those. You can expect a decent 7-10 lpa package if you study properly for placements here. Deloitte, TCS, Infosys, Alstom, Cognizant are some regular recruiters in the institute.

Remarks:

I got in through the CSAB counselling after JoSAA, conducted after JEE mains. No interviews but JEE itself is difficult as it is. The institute is prestigious due to the NIT tag and is one of the better ones among the newer NITs, available at my rank in JEE. The admission is not very complicated, it was allotted to me in the CSAB counselling and after that some document uploading and payment of first semester fees, which we had to physically verify upon arrival at the institute. Preparation for JEE took me two years 11th and 12th and another drop year after which I could get into this institute. Regular and constant practice is what I would suggest to future aspirants.
