Life and Learning at NIT Hamirpur

What I Liked

Vibrant campus with active student body and active partaking of culture fests.
Execellent infastructure the equipments in labs are mainted and upto the mark.

What I didn’t like

Mess food can be repititive sometimes and lack taste and variety.
Limited public transport and connectivity issue outside campus.

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent. Eligibility is typically at CGPA 6.0 or higher. Recruiters include TCS, Infosys ,Oracle, Wellsfargo etc.Highest package this year reached around 3 crores per annum as it was a foreign offer.

Remarks:

I chose this college for its strong academics , good placements, and campus life. Admission was via jee mains. No GI/PD just rank based cutoffs. Good: labs, infrastructure faculty. Bad: hostel food options. Prepared via jee mock tests and coaching center materials.

review of nithamirpur for students who confused to choose college.

What I Liked

the view of the college the college is very beautiful and it’s obviously it comes in himachal so himachal is beauty of india
the food items are available in college many canteens are there every thing is available in college you don’t need to go outside.

What I didn’t like

sometimes water issues are there like many times water doesn’t comes in bathrooms but college makes them happen by importing water from trucks.
timings are there for in and out that makes hard for students to go after 10 pm but its good for your safety

Placement Experience:

placement are good many cse students have package in crores i think cse nad ece branch is good but other branch package is around 10 lakh if i would suggest students i suggest go for cse or ece branch because in the era of artificial intelligence nad machine learning these two branches are booming and the package are also best in these branches you can also try for gate exam after the civil mechanical or electrical you can get jib in public plus private jobs

Remarks:

its very beautiful place in himachal and the placement is also good if you want to choose which college you want to choose wisely what you want to go in which field but if suggest go with the cse or ece branch because here you can get good yearly income of more than 20lakhs and in the era of machine learning and artificial intelligence these branches are booming you can find many jobs and startups in these field

Nit Hamirpur , college in heaven

What I Liked

First of all college is full of greenery all around.
It has best cultural fests like hillfair and nimbus technical one
Faculties are very helpful .We can do interships under them
Air is very clean to breathe and we have electric vehicle facility
We can join here clubs , societies of our interest and many extra curricular activities .

What I didn’t like

Campus in timings of girls is 9:30 pm which is not good
Professors are strict and can easily give supply

Placement Experience:

For good placements we should have no supplies and cg above 7 . Lastly many good companies visited like reliance , jsw , oracle . In mechanical average package is 6-8 lakh and highest package is 1.5 crore. In mechanical 95 percent get placed. After getting degree I want to give upsc .

Remarks:

I got this college by josaa and csab counselling .This college has the most beautiful campus as well is placement rate in mechanical is more than 95 percent . For admission we have to give jee main and cut off for general category for this college is more than 87 percentile for home state girls and it varies from category to category and cut off is available in josaa and csab counselling website. Cut off also depend on course .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty of this course are highly qualified and their methods are quite sufficient to understand the concept. They are kind and supportive to the students. They will always help in your problems.

Remarks:

I choose this college for its location. It is based in Himachal and it is on a good location. I just give jee main and get this college I didn't appear for any interview or anything. I prepare for jee main by taking coaching in my drop year

Life at Nith

What I Liked

The infrastructure of college is quite good
The college faculty is quite helpful. .

What I didn’t like

As a second year student , there is nothing to dislike
There is nothing to dislike..but transportation could be a problem

Placement Experience:

I am just in the second year in this college.so i don't know much about the placements.but still placement opportunities are quite good and packages are high fir hard working students and thats it.

Remarks:

It is a college of national importance , i cracked JEE Mains to get this clg..it is nearest to my home and the best college nearby , so i joined it..only you have to crack jee mains with a good rank and thats it

A hostellers life at Nith

What I Liked

Greenry in the campus view and department are clean and atmosphere is also good
We have a capmus of 320 acres which is beautiful

What I didn’t like

Hostels are not that much good in cleanliness
There are restrictions in campus you can’t leave hostel after 9:30 Pm and campus after 6:00 Pm

Placement Experience:

Eligibility depends on companies policy the index of placement is quite good for it and mechanical but not that much good for civil Almost 80% cse is placed and companys like google oracle and samsung come for placement

Remarks:

A college in Himachal and i wanted to choose Mnc branch We have state quota at nith by which Himachal students get admission at nith at just 80%ile Other wise cuttoff for other state is 86%ile We get admission through jee mains only

What I Liked

Campus location, its situated in himachal's hamirpur so you can visit himachal in 4 years
Campus life is good, as it has cool environment, even in summers

What I didn’t like

Faculty, i seriously don't like faculty that much
Night life, the night life of college is zero

Placement Experience:

Placements are being offered. There was a decay in placements graph post covid but its increasing again. At this time , only mechanical department has a record of 100 percent placent. Other departments are comparatively less able.

Remarks:

I am from hamirpur and this college is in my my hometown, so i chose this college. To get this college i had to compete with other aspirants in IIT JEE exam.Luckily i got one of the Nit that too in my hometown.

What I Liked

College infrastructure is well maintained, all the buildings, computer department, admin block , hostels ,lecture hall all are well maintained and equipped with latest facilties and updated to present tech.
The campus of nit hamirpur is very beautiful, in presence of white snow capped dhauladhars range and also the campus is well located with greenery all around, and beautiful spots to enjoy natural beauty.

What I didn’t like

No fruits,vegetable shop inside the campus
No night life after 10pm in the campus. Cannot roam in the campus after 10pm and only can study in library reading room upto 12am midnight.

Placement Experience:

Placement percemtage is great here , especially B.arch and mechanical branch btech, they achieved 100% placement last year 2024, Also skme students acheive high packages of crores in IT branch and of 30-40lpa in core branches. Mean packages are around 10-12lpa. Eligibilty criteria depends on the coming companies which ks mostly based on cgpa around 6.5 above for some companies and mostly above 7.5 or 8. Most students are placed in the starting of final year and rest follwed by them in upcoming last smester , and those interested in higher studies opt for gate exam and uptil now many students have scored among top 50 AIR and even top 10 AIR.

Remarks:

I got this college by cracking jee mains , the process is by going through josaa alootment after jee mains. Cutoff for general was around 86 percentile at that time , and for electronics branch at nit hamirpur the required percentile for general category is around 95. I prepared for jee during 11th-12th, completed my school syllabus and referred some known books like rd sharma ,hc verma and mc graw hill publications and rest through content available on youtube.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum has updated now and much new subjects have added in this curriculum which provides the exposure to industry relevant subjects at very ground level and the professors are doc and post doc from iits

Remarks:

The college campus is beautiful. It is the most beautiful NIT. Their are seperate departments for all the streams and jee and josaa counselling is required to get the admission. The cutoffs are not very high

What I Liked

The student of this college is so good and supporting in nature.
The faculty member of this college is supporting in nature .

What I didn’t like

The placement of this is not so good enough.
The number of companies is not much enough.

Placement Experience:

I am not included in any internship programme . Generally the students of third and fourth opted the internship because of their knowledge and experience in any clubs and societies. The plan of my life is to become successful in my life.

Remarks:

This is my choice to be admitted in this college. And i got this college after qualifying the JEE MAINS exam . The admission process of my college is so easy and get admitted easily . I was prepare my exam studies very easily .
