I entered Jalpaiguri Government engineering College in the electronics and communication engineering department with 2869 rank in the West Bengal joint entrance examination in year 2024 admission procedure was taken in the computer lab of the college which was totally online first I went for the p i reporting and directly took admission in the second round in the first round I was allotted in another college where I also completed my Pi reporting but did not take admission. There I said for upgradation in the first round. In college recently I have had to competitions one was the group discussion in college and when was the online computing examination in the BRICS computing examination iccured first rank in college and in India I secured 8th rank in the group 1st year and in group discussion I was a finalist and I also got certificate for it.

After Jadavpur this college, Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College is the best option for core branch. It exceeds the placement of EE in NIT Durgapur. Faculty is also knowledgeable, well qualified, friendly. I think there should be no doubt about the glory, excellence of the college and bright future of the pass out students. This is indeed the best college in North Bengal and 2nd best engineering college in west bengal. I've secured 4811 Genral Merit Rank to get a chance to study in Electrical Engineering Department in this prestigious Autonomous College.

Good aspects- Good culture of different technical events. Seniors and professors are supportive. Placement ratio is good. Natural beauty is good. Fees is less. Good alumni network. Bad aspects - Hostel facilities could have been more good. Professor may teach in local languages. May not get NOC from college for internship in final semester. Admission process - Give WBJEE and get a decent rank to get admitted in the college. For IT branch you to be under 5000 Rank. To get admission in the college at last seat at general rank should be under 10000. You have to apply through WEBJEE counseling in this college. There are 2 seats for defence quota students also. One seat is in IT branch and one seat is in mechanical branch. Point to note that these 2 seats are open for all India defence dependants. Hence if you're father is/was in defence services and you are from India you can apply here. You have to apply through Zila/Rajya sainik board of Kolkata by email to get listed on these seats.

If you to get admission to this college you must be a citizen of West Bengal and you have to appear in the Wbjee exam to get get rank of 2500-3000 to get an IT branch in this college. I chose this college because there is good placement in IT and CSE br and it is near my house and government college is always valuable.

To be admitted to this college you have to pass WBJEE with a good rank(for the Information Technology department only approximately 2000 out of 1.5 lacs students).In our college, we have 6 engineering departments (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology)and 2 M.Tech departments Electrical and Mechanical. The good thing about this college is the placement, last year nearly 90% of students were placed in various companies. The bad thing about our college is its Connectivity because it's situated in North Bengal almost 600 km from Kolkata the nearest railway station is in under 3.5 km, and another is in this college only West Bengal students can get admission no one can get admission from another state.

This college is very good as it is government college so the fee is so low as compared to others engineering college also to take admission in this college we appeared for WBJEE exam and make a good rank to get admission. The admission is only bassed on the rank obtained in the examination.
