AIMA has released the syllabus for the MAT 2025 exam on the official website. Indian and Global Environment has been renamed as Economic and Business Environment in the MAT 2025 syllabus. The revised MAT 2025 syllabus is divided into 5 sections: Language Comprehension, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills and Economics and Business Environment.

The MAT 2025 exam consists of a total of 150 questions worth +1 each with a negative marking of -0.25. Each subject carries 30 questions making each section worth a total of 30 marks. The duration of the exam is 2 hours (120 minutes) for Computer Based Test (CBT) as well as Paper Based Test (PBT).

MAT Syllabus 2025 Section Wise Weightage
The MAT 2025 exam question paper consists of 150 questions worth 150 marks, each section carries 30 questions. +1 mark is awarded for every correct answer which adds up to a total of 30 marks per section.
Is GK counted in the MAT 2025 Syllabus?
Yes, General Knowledge is counted in the MAT 2025 syllabus under the Economic and Business Environment section but it is not counted separately for the final score calculation.
All the 5 sections have a unique set of areas that they focus on:
Language Comprehension: This section evaluates focus reading, grammar and verbal reasoning
Intelligence and Critical Reasoning: Tests logical thinking, decision making and pattern recognition

MAT 2025 Exam Pattern
The MAT 2025 exam consists of 150 questions worth a total of 150 marks i.e. 30 marks for each of the five sections. Candidate’s familiarity with the exam pattern ensures they know the flow of the question paper to avoid any last minute surprises or confusion on the exam day.
Is the MAT exam online or offline?
The MAT exam can be taken offline as well as online. The candidate can take the exam as a Computer Based Test (CBT), Internet Based Test (IBT) and Paper Based Test (PBT). The candidates can specify their exam mode preference at the time of registration.
How many times is the MAT exam conducted in a year in 2025?
MAT 2025 will be conducted four times a year, the months the exam will be conducted in are: February, May, August and December.

Yes, 90% is a very good percentile for MAT 2025. The participating colleges decide the MAT cutoff for admission to their MBA/PGDM programs and the cutoff range for the top MBA colleges is between 90 - 95 percentile.
