Use these sets for individual questions and short topic practice. For a full mock, follow the current pattern of 30 questions in each of five sections, with 120 minutes for the complete test.
MAT 2026 Question Paper: Arithmetic and Reasoning Set
The 2026 arithmetic and reasoning set contains 11 questions. It includes averages, ages, coins and ratios, work rates, directions, an alphabet series, a passage-summary question and data-sufficiency material. It is a short practice collection, not a complete 150-question paper.
In the direction question, track east-west movement separately from north-south movement before finding the final distance. For the coins question, the ratio counts coins of different values; treating the ratio as a ratio of rupee amounts changes the answer.
Use 30 questions per section for the current MAT. This collection has an outdated 40-per-section instruction. Skip Question 9: its answer choices are placeholders rather than usable sufficiency options.
MAT 2026 CBT June 14 Memory-based Questions
The June 14 memory-based collection contains 20 questions. The set includes discount and profit, ages, trains, simple interest, time and work, a sales table, data sufficiency, a short passage, grammar, spelling, directions, arrangements and business-awareness questions.
| Paper section | Questions in this recall set |
| Mathematical Skills | 1-5 |
| Data Analysis and Sufficiency | 6-10 |
| Language Comprehension | 11-15 |
| Intelligence and Critical Reasoning | 16-18 |
| General and business awareness | 19-20 |
These ranges describe the 20-question collection, not the section weightage of the full examination. Questions 6-8 share a sales table. Read the year and unit before calculating percentage growth, the average or the difference between two years. Questions 9-10 ask whether the statements supply enough information, so solving one equation is not always enough.
Leave Questions 17 and 20 out of scoring. Question 17 allows more than one seating order because it does not say that the people between the named neighbours must be adjacent. Question 20 mixes up a parliamentary bill vote with the enactment of a law. The remaining questions can be used as individual exercises.
What Can the 2026 Recall Questions Tell You?
The June collection gives examples of how arithmetic, data and language questions are worded. It cannot show the chapter-wise weightage of the full examination: 20 recalled questions cover only part of a 150-question paper, and recall need not be evenly spread across sections.
A short direct passage in this collection does not establish that every passage in the examination was equally short. Similarly, several arithmetic questions do not prove that another topic was absent. Use the set to practise the skills it contains, while keeping all five MAT sections in your preparation.
For a wider range of question types, combine it with the historical MAT 2025 question collection. Keep timed full-paper practice separate from these shorter exercises.
MAT Paper Pattern and Marking Scheme
| Section | Questions |
| Language Comprehension | 30 |
| Intelligence & Critical Reasoning | 30 |
| Mathematical Skills | 30 |
| Data Analysis & Sufficiency | 30 |
| Economic & Business Environment | 30 |
| Total | 150 |
The full MAT has 150 multiple-choice questions in 120 minutes. AIMA currently offers Paper Based Test (PBT) and Computer Based Test (CBT). All five sections count towards the MAT score.
A correct answer earns one raw mark, a wrong answer deducts 0.25 mark, and an unanswered question earns zero. For example, 70 correct answers and 20 wrong answers produce 70 - (20 x 0.25) = 65 raw marks. The other 60 questions are unanswered.
The total time works out to an average of 48 seconds per question. This is an arithmetic average, not a separate time limit for every question. A reading passage or data set may take longer initially but support several answers.
What to Practise in Each MAT Section
Mathematical Skills
The available collections include averages, ratios, profit and loss, time and work, speed, interest and mixtures. Keep the base of a percentage clear. If a price rises from INR 400 to INR 500, the increase is 25%; the reduction needed to return from INR 500 to INR 400 is 20%. The amounts are equal but the starting values differ.
Data Analysis and Sufficiency
For a chart question, separate the figure read from the chart from the calculation required. A question asking for the increase in sales needs a difference; a percentage increase also needs the original sales figure as its denominator. In data sufficiency, test each statement separately before combining them.
For an original example, suppose the question asks for x. Statement I says x + y = 14; Statement II says y = 6. Neither alone fixes x, but together they give x = 8. The answer is about which statements are sufficient, not just the numerical value.
Language Comprehension
Practise passage meaning, supported inferences, sentence errors and vocabulary in context. For inference questions, an option can sound reasonable yet go beyond the passage. For grammar, identify the actual subject before choosing a verb; a plural noun inside a phrase need not be the subject.
Intelligence and Critical Reasoning
Directions, arrangements, series and statement-conclusion questions test different skills. In an arrangement, words such as immediately, somewhere between and at an end impose different conditions. Draw every arrangement allowed by the stated rules before treating a position as fixed.
Economic and Business Environment
Separate stable business concepts from dated events. Revenue, profit and percentage growth can be practised with numerical examples; appointments, reports and policy developments need their own dates. A correct answer to a previous-year current-affairs question may describe that year rather than the present.
The MAT 2025 syllabus guide gives a historical topic breakdown. Use it for topic revision alongside the current five-section structure, rather than treating a recalled set as a complete topic list.
How to Review a MAT Practice Attempt
Keep calculation errors separate from wrong methods. In a profit question, an incorrect denominator is a method error; multiplying the correct figures wrongly is an arithmetic error. Redoing both in the same way can hide the reason marks were lost.
For reasoning, check whether the conclusion is forced by every valid arrangement. If two valid arrangements lead to different answers, the question needs another condition. Do not change a condition just to match a printed answer.
| Error in your attempt | What to revisit |
| Correct calculation, wrong percentage | Whether the base is cost price, selling price or the earlier value |
| Chart answer differs by a factor of 100 | Units such as rupees, thousands, lakhs or percentages |
| Arrangement matches only one possible order | Whether the wording requires adjacency or merely relative order |
| Reading option adds an unstated claim | The exact sentence supporting the inference |
A short recall set is suitable for these checks. A full timed mock needs all 150 questions across the five sections. The percentage of questions you get right in a short set is practice accuracy; it cannot be converted directly into the MAT composite score or percentile.
