MAT Eligibility Criteria 2026

The qualifying degree can be in arts, science, commerce, engineering or another recognised discipline. MAT is not restricted to BBA or commerce graduates.

Graduation Percentage and MBA Admission

AIMA's common MAT appearance rule is graduation or provisional final-year status. The minimum graduation percentage for admission depends on the management institute or university. There is no single MAT percentage table that can replace each programme's admission conditions.

For example, a candidate may be allowed to write MAT while still failing a particular MBA programme's graduation requirement. The scorecard measures performance in the test; the college also checks the degree and the rest of its selection criteria.

Final-Year Students and Provisional Eligibility

Final-year students in programmes such as BA, BSc, BCom and BTech may appear provisionally. The admitting institute determines when final marksheets and proof of graduation must be submitted.

A student awaiting a final-year result should match the result timeline with the chosen programme's admission deadline. MAT does not provide one degree-completion date that applies to every participating college.

Age, Work Experience and Repeat Attempts

You can take MAT more than once. AIMA allows candidates to use their best score, while the chosen institute decides which test sessions and score-validity period it accepts.

From MAT Registration to College Admission

For December, MAT test dates are 20 December for PBT and 27 December for CBT. Registration costs INR 2,300 for either mode or INR 4,000 for both.

Complete the exam registration with your correct qualification status. Then apply to the selected management institutes within their admission windows. Final-year applicants must provide the degree documents required by the institute before provisional admission can become final.
