MAT Paper Analysis 2021: December Session 

During the December 2021 session, AIMA (All India Management Association) administered the MAT 2021 examination in PBT, CBT, and IBT formats. The overall difficulty level of the MAT 2021 paper was moderate.

The structure of the MAT 2021 IBT question paper was the same as that of the MAT CBT and PBT question papers. In MAT 2021, various adjustments in the allocation of marks might be made based on a university choice.

MAT 2021 Sectional Analysis 

Language Comprehension 

As typical, this segment of the MAT 2021 has 40 questions. The difficulty level was moderate, except for a few challenging and complex questions.

Mathematical Skills

There were 40 questions in the Mathematical Skills section In the IBT, PBT, and CBT modes of the MAT 2021 exam. The majority of the questions were asked with a medium difficulty level, with a few tough questions.

• This portion was driven by arithmetic questions. Around 15 questions are being asked on arithmetic topics such as interest, percentages, time and work, profit, loss, and partnership. All of the questions were moderately challenging, and candidates said that they took a long time to finish.
• The rest of the problems focused on topics like Geometry and Mensuration, Ratio, Probability, Permutation and Combinations, Equation, and so on, in addition to the Arithmetic questions. In this segment, a score of 29-30 is required to get 90+ per cent.

Data Analysis and Sufficiency

• The MAT Data Analysis and Sufficiency segment comprises 40 MCQs with 1-2 challenging pairs of moderate complexity.
• Data Interpretation that includes questions from Graphs, Pie Charts, Bar Diagrams, Charts, Line Graphs, and Data Comparison, took up almost half of this segment of the MAT exam 2021.
• The remaining half of the segment consists of Data Sufficiency and Data Comparison questions. Candidates who achieve a score of 20-23 will get 90 per cent or higher.

Intelligence and Critical Reasoning

• Analytical and Logical Reasoning questions were more numerous in this segment of the MAT 2021 exam, while Critical Reasoning questions were few.
• There were ten questions on Family Relationships, ten questions on Statement Cause and Effect, and others on Statement-Assumptions, Reasons, Analogies and Direction, Series, and Incorrect words both in sets and individually.
• This section may appear to be long and complex and difficult to finish. Candidates can achieve 90+ percent if they score 26-27.

Indian and Global Environment

This segment had a total of 40 questions, with the following topics:

• COVID-19 and its global consequences
• Government Policies, Rules, and Regulations
• JIO-Facebook agreement
• India's Constitution
• CAA and GST
• Appointments
• Trade Policy in the United States
• Current events in the domestic and international

MAT 2023 IBT Exam Pattern

For your reference, we've included a table that highlights the MAT 2023 IBT exam pattern:

• Mathematical Skills tops the list in terms of difficulty level. It takes 40 minutes to complete and requires a high average score. Language Comprehension will be in second place in the difficulty level, with an average score that is equal to that of the Mathematical Skills section.
• Finally, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, both require a high score while also it consumes less time. Then follows Data Analysis, which appears to be the easiest section. Because the Indian and Global Environment subject is not counted into the score calculation, most students prefer to either avoid it to save time for other sections or they answer only a few questions.

MAT 2022 PBT and CBT Session Analysis

MAT 2022 would be given in a wide range of different sessions. The CBT exam is divided into two sessions and the PBT exam is divided into only one session. The dates for the MAT CBT exam in 2022 have already been announced on the official website. The layout of the IBT and CBT/PBT formats is uniform, as mentioned before.

MAT February 2021 Paper Analysis

• The MAT 2021 February session examination was completed on February 20, 2021 in CBT format and March 6, 2021 in PBT format. The examination went down without any problem, and strict safety regulations were taken to keep the MAT candidates safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
• The February 2021 session was also held in IBT (Internet-Based Test) mode, which means that candidates will be entitled to take the exam from their homes using their laptops/PC.
• The questions on Verbal Reasoning, Data Analysis, and Reasoning were difficult and time-consuming. The Reasoning part was moderate with few tough problems. There were 18 to 20 questions on Family Relations and Statements Cause and Effect.
• There were several questions on graphs and pie charts in both the Data Analysis and Data Sufficiency parts. A result of 110-112 is generally good for students aiming for 90 per cent.

MAT May/June 2021 Paper Analysis

• For the May/June sessions, AIMA administered the MAT 2021 through PBT, CBT, and the Internet-Based Test (IBT) methods. The MAT exam 2021 CBT and PBT were held on June 26, 2021, and the MAT IBT was held from May 30, 2021-June 20, 2021.
• The arithmetic part got the highest weightage of 15 questions under the Mathematical Skills category. The Reading Comprehension questions accounted for 50% of the score in the Language Comprehension segment. The Data Analysis and Sufficiency portion had a few difficulties with some manageable questions.

MAT September 2021 Paper Analysis

• For the September term, AIMA administered the MAT exam 2021 in PBT, CBT, and the Internet-Based Test (IBT) formats. The MAT 2021 CBT was held on August 21, 2021 and September 12, 2021, and the MAT IBT was held on August 28, 2021 and September 12, 2021.
• The arithmetic part was given the most weight in the Mathematical Skills category, followed by algebra, geometry, and number system. There were 20 Reading Comprehension questions in the Language Comprehension portion. The Data Analysis and Sufficiency part had a few difficult yet solvable questions.

Tips to Approach the MAT 2022 

To get high grades in the MAT 2022, candidates should follow the below-mentioned tips:

• Review the whole syllabus and create a schedule for each portion and allocate time to each topic. Allow some extra time for the subjects in which you are less proficient.
• Every 3-4 days, take a mock test to evaluate your performance.
• To improve your quantitative and verbal abilities, go through the fundamental principles first and then solve the problems.
• Understand the current developments in the Indian and worldwide economy. Candidates can use books like Manorama yearbook and lucent GK for static GK.
• Candidates should enhance their reading speed to prepare for reading comprehension. This can be executed by reading newspaper and magazine editorials.
