IIEST Shibpur Admission process for M.Sc courses has started. To apply, qualified applicants can go to the official website. The Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) Shibpur, also known as IIEST Shibpur, is a major engineering, science, and technology research and education institute.
At the undergraduate level, the institute offers B.Tech and B.Arch programmes, while at the doctoral level, the institute offers M.Tech, MURP, M.Sc., and MBA programmes. Admission to UG courses is dependent on candidates’ merit as decided by JEE Mains results, while admission to M.Tech courses is determined by candidates’ GATE results.

For PhD admissions, IIEST Shibpur holds a different entrance exam and interview. 50% of seats are reserved for candidates from outside West Bengal for all courses offered by IIEST Shibpur, and 50% are reserved for students from West Bengal. There are 22 percent, 6%, and 3% of seats reserved for students from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Mentally Disabled students, respectively, and three seats reserved under the Defence Quota. Tuition Waiver Scheme seats are limited to 5% of total seats (supernumerary).

Candidates will be shortlisted for MBA seats offered by IIEST Shibpur based on their MAT/CMAT/CAT/XAT/GMAT ratings.
On the basis of their academic credentials, applicants will be shortlisted. The Writing Ability Test will be taken by these candidates who had been shortlisted. Candidates who have been further shortlisted based on their performance on the written exam will be invited to an interview.

The B.Tech course takes four years to complete, while the B.Arch and combined courses take five years.
The B.Tech course has nine different specialisations, and the Integrated B.Tech+M.Tech course has 29 different specialty topics spread across nine different departments.
All of these courses will be admitted into the JEE (Main)- Paper I (Engineering) and Paper II (Architecture) examinations, which are administered by the JEE Apex Board under CBSE. Candidates who have been shortlisted will be invited to IIEST for a counselling session.
Bachelor in Technology/Architecture (B.Tech/B.Arch):
Passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination this year with at least five subjects, not more than two of which must be vernacular, in the General or Vocational stream of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, West Bengal, with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Vernacular or any other subject (Full Marks not less than 100), or in an equivalent examination of a recognized Board or university with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Vernacular or any other subject (Full
General candidates must receive a minimum of 45 percent in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics together, as well as a minimum of 30 percent in English. SC/ST/PH candidates must receive a minimum of 40 percent in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (for all category of candidates).
For applicants who have obtained a Master’s degree in their respective fields of study and are able to do studies in the same, IIEST also offers a Ph.D. degree with 17 different fields of research. The following are the specialisations offered by IIEST Shibpur:

Master’s degree in engineering, architecture, or town and regional planning, or M.Phil or a similar degree recognized by the UGC/AICTE in a division of science or related fields. Admission to the Ph.D. programme is determined by the candidates’ success on the entrance exam, which is accompanied by an interview held by the Institute.
Admission to the Ph.D. programme is performed in two cycles: The first one in July, known as the 1st cycle, and the other in January, known as the 2nd cycle.
Ques. Is IIEST SHIBPUR a decent place to get a Masters of Geology?
Ans. In the NIRF-2019, IIEST, Shibpur (formerly “Bengal Engineering College”) is ranked 19th among Engineering Institutes. In 2014, it was the first college in India to be designated as an Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST). Shibpur now has a student population of 1500 per year, with 16 departments and 8 schools IIEST. That's all, no GD/PI. Since I am born and brought up in West Bengal, IIEST, Shibpur was always in one of my choices for admission. IIEST, Shibpur is a well reputed engineering college which has been crafting great engineers since 1856, everyone in Bengal knows about this college.

We've got a new dean in 2024. I hope things will get better It was during the COVID lockdown period. The entirety of the admission process was done online. There was no GD/PI. Candidates were allotted through JOSAA counseling and accepted solely based on the JEE MAIN cutoff.
