RVCE Admission Dates 2027

RVCE admissions are held through KCET, COMEDK UGET, and management quota. KCET covers 45% of seats, COMEDK UGET covers 30%, and management quota covers 25%.

RVCE Courses and Fees

RVCE offers 15 B.E. specialisations, 12 M.Tech specialisations, MCA, and Ph.D programmes. Fees are different for each admission route. KCET fees are regulated by the Karnataka government, while management quota fees are fixed by the trust.

The B.E. Computer Science and Engineering and Information Science and Engineering programmes receive the strongest KCET demand. Lateral entry into the 3rd year of B.E. is offered to Karnataka diploma holders through DCET counselling.

RVCE Admission Process

RVCE fills seats through three routes: KCET for government quota seats, COMEDK UGET, and management quota. Each route has its own fee structure, counselling process, and eligibility rules. A valid national or state-level entrance exam score is required.

KCET Admission (Government Quota)

Students applying through KCET must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and at least 45% aggregate. Karnataka domicile is required for government quota seats. Counselling is conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), and seats are allotted by rank and category.

COMEDK UGET Admission

COMEDK UGET is open to Indian students and is not limited to Karnataka domicile candidates. Students need 10+2 with PCM and at least 45% aggregate. COMEDK conducts counselling, after which selected students confirm their seats at the RVCE admissions office.

Management Quota Admission

The Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust manages 25% of the seats through direct admission. A valid KCET, COMEDK, or JEE Main score is still needed. This route is used by students who do not get a seat through counselling, but its fee is higher than the KCET quota fee.

M.Tech and MCA Admission

For M.Tech admission, applicants must have a B.E. / B.Tech degree in the relevant discipline with first class, equal to 60% or 6.5 CGPA. GATE is preferred and is required for sponsored and fellowship seats. PGCET Karnataka is accepted for state quota seats. MCA admission is through PGCET, and Mathematics must have been studied at 10+2 or graduation level.

RVCE Cutoffs

RVCE cutoffs are high for computer-related branches because demand is strong through both KCET and COMEDK UGET. The CSE closing rank for KCET 2025 in the General category, AI quota, was 499. Through COMEDK UGET 2026, CSE closed at rank 520.

RVCE Placements

RVCE completed the 2025 placement season with 1,009 placement offers from 262 companies. The average B.E. package stood at INR 24.50 LPA. The highest domestic package was INR 67 LPA, and the highest international package was INR 1.15 CPA. M.Tech students recorded an average package of INR 12.73 LPA, while MCA students averaged INR 8.79 LPA.

CSE, ISE, AI and ML, and Data Science attract many of the highest-paying roles. Mechanical, Civil, and Chemical students are placed in manufacturing, construction, and infrastructure companies. Aerospace and Biotechnology students are hired by defence contractors, pharmaceutical firms, and biotech companies in the Bangalore corridor.

RVCE benefits from its Bengaluru location, which gives students access to product companies, startups, IT services firms, and consulting recruiters. VISA, Cisco, and Deloitte show that product and consulting roles are part of its placement mix.

RVCE Rankings

RVCE was placed in the 101 to 150 band in NIRF Engineering 2025 after securing rank 99 in NIRF Engineering 2024. It also holds 7th rank in Outlook Top Engineering Colleges 2025 and 33rd rank in The Week engineering rankings 2025. IIRF 2025 ranked RVCE as the number 1 private engineering college in India.

RVCE has NAAC A+ accreditation. Many B.E., M.Tech, and MCA programmes have NBA accreditation. The college has been autonomous since 2007.

RVCE Campus and Infrastructure

RVCE has a 16.85-acre campus on Mysore Road, Bengaluru. The campus is within the city and is connected to Bengaluru's Electronic City corridor and Outer Ring Road technology parks. This helps students with internships and placement access. City buses and Metro connectivity from Nayandahalli and Mysore Road stations serve the campus area.

The college has more than 30 laboratories across engineering, computing, biotech, and aerospace fields. Its central library has over 1 lakh volumes and a digital repository. Hostel facilities include a separate boys hostel with fees of INR 0.25 to 0.45 Lakhs per year for selected categories and girls hostel facilities. Students can use basketball, volleyball, cricket, and table tennis facilities on campus.

RVCE's autonomous status under VTU allows it to frame its own curriculum and conduct its own exams. Several departments also have MoUs with global companies such as Texas Instruments, SAP Labs, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise for curriculum development and internship pipelines.

RVCE Scholarships

RVCE provides scholarships mainly through government schemes and corporate or NGO support. As an aided institution under Karnataka fee rules, it supports students from financially weaker backgrounds and reserved categories.

Students from economically weaker sections can also apply for the Central Government Scholarship (PM-USP) scheme. Since RVCE has aided status, many KCET quota seats are available at government-regulated fees, which helps meritorious Karnataka-domicile students manage costs.

RVCE vs MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology vs BMS College of Engineering

RVCE, MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, and BMS College of Engineering are autonomous private engineering colleges in Bengaluru affiliated with VTU. All three attract KCET, COMEDK, and management quota applicants.

MS Ramaiah has a higher NIRF rank at 75, while RVCE reports a much higher average placement package. BMSCE is the lowest-cost choice under the aided quota and has a long legacy, but its NIRF band and average package are lower than RVCE. Students focused on placement return may prefer RVCE, while students giving more weight to NIRF rank may compare MSRIT closely.
