NIT Hamirpur Hostel
As a student at the NIT Hamirpur, you must stay in hostels, as it's a residential institution. They have separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. Currently, there are 8 hostels for boys and 4 hostels for girls. Additionally, the authority is building one hostel for girls & boys each to accommodate the increased number of students.
A Block of Satpura Hostel has been converted into a girl's hostel in 2021. Along with that the Student Activity Centre (SAC) was inaugurated that supports various sports like, Basketball, TT, Badminton, GYM, Karate, NCC, Yoga, Separate Spaces for Cultural Activities like Music Club, Dramatics Club, Bhangra Club etc. Here are the brief details about the various hostels:
- Timing restrictions:
- Students must return to their hostels by 9:30 PM.
- Girls have strict timing enforcement, while boys have some relaxation.
- Visitor policy:
- Parents or siblings can visit with the warden's permission.
- Overnight stays are prohibited; visitors can stay in the Satpura Guest House.
- Hostel proximity and commute:
- Everything is inside the campus, be it hostels, academic buildings, or departments, and the commute is very comfortable with good roads.
- No vehicle is allowed for Btech and Mtech students.
- PhD scholars keep their vehicle only if they haven’t opted for a college hostel.
- First-year students have to share a room with 3 others (4 per room).
- In the second and third years, triple-sharing rooms are provided.
- In the fourth and fifth years, single rooms are available.

- Bus Stand: The campus is approximately 4 km away from the main bus stand of Hamirpur on Hamirpur Tauni Devi Road. Hamirpur is 450 km away from Delhi and 200 km away from Chandigarh. Taxi and bus services are available from Hamirpur to Una.
- Railway: The nearest broad gauge railway junction is in Una, Himachal Pradesh, about 70 km from Hamirpur.
- Tax/Bus Stand: Airpot: The nearest airport is at Dharamshala (Gaggal, Distt. Kangra), about 75 km (2 hours) from Hamirpur. Chandigarh International Airport is about 200 km (4 hours) from Hamirpur.

Ques. What are the attendance requirements at NIT Hamirpur?
Ans. Students have to maintain at least 50% attendance for sitting in the end-semester examinations, there is no attendance criteria for sitting in mid-semester examinations. If your attendance is less than 75% but more than 50%, then the percentage of marks would be deducted in the final calculation equal to the percent required to make your current attendance equal to 75%. For Example, If your attendance is 70% then there will be a deduction of 5% marks from the total marks.
Ques. What is the process of paying semester fee? Is time relaxation provided to pay the fee?
Ans. Students can pay the fee through the SBI Collect portal easily, Bank DDs are also accepted.
No time relaxation is provided, and 500 rupees/day of fine is imposed for late fee. Admin is very strict about this.
Ques. How effective is the NIT Hamirpur College’s placement cell in helping students find jobs or internships?
Ans. NIT Hamirpur Training and Placement cell is very helpful. They conduct a few sessions of Personality Development for Interviews, and no technical assistance for interviews is provided. The cell have recently introduced a provision that allows final semester students to go for 6-month onsite internships.

Ans. Dr. TP Sharma, Dr. Kamlesh Dutta, Dr. Siddhart Chauhan, Dr. Naveen Chauhan are the teachers for Integrated Btech CSE. They teach subjects like Data Structures, Theory of Computation, Computer Graphics, AI/ML, and Computer Networks. Teaching styles vary from one teacher to another, mostly the teaching style is very old and not suitable for current requirements. Faculties are old with the average age being around 45 years.
Ques. Are the classrooms well-equipped with the necessary technology and resources?
Ans. Yes, Classrooms are very spacious and neat, with every class having projectors and whiteboards.
Ques. Is there flexibility in the curriculum to choose electives or specialize in areas of interest?
Ans. You can choose electives but it is also merit-based, students with good CGPA can choose easily while others have fewer options.
Ques. How do you describe the quality and variety of food available at the campus canteen?
Ans. South Indian and North Indian food are abundant. Food quality is also decent. Non Vegetarian food is very hard to find in the canteens.

Ans. To check the Btech first semester results students can go check out the results at the official website of the college. No, Original marksheets can be obtained later on from the respective departments only.
Before the results are announced, students can review their marksheets. If they find any issues, teachers do resolve them.
Ques. Does NIT Hamirpur offer any scholarships to students?
Ans. NIT Hamirpur provides financial assistance to the reserved category students. For B.tech, B.Arch and M.tech courses there is no tuition fee if you are either SC/ST or have parental salary less than 1 lakhs, if the family income is between 1 to 5 lakhs, 2/3rd of the tuition fee is waived off. If the family income is greater than 5 lakhs there is no fee waiver rule, full fee has to be paid.
Apart from that students are also eligible for National Scholarship and Scholarship processed through NSP/Other State Portals.

Course Curriculum Overview:
I actually chose this course as i have interest in finance and quant and also programming. This branch kinda takes the mathematical modelling aspect of things too so yes and also i actually like maths. Exams were 2 times in a semester and they were moderately tough as the emphasis was on understanding not route learning.
Placement Experience:
Placements are decent. Eligibility is typically at CGPA 6.0 or higher. Recruiters include TCS, Infosys ,Oracle, Wellsfargo etc.Highest package this year reached around 3 crores per annum as it was a foreign offer.

i choose this course because we have family background of this field and also can prepare for govt engineering services.the qualifications of the faculty is aldo very good many top iit students are teachers here and many teachers are also in real time government projects like dam making ,airport making ,airport surveying and top faculties are there
Placement Experience:
placement are good many cse students have package in crores i think cse nad ece branch is good but other branch package is around 10 lakh if i would suggest students i suggest go for cse or ece branch because in the era of artificial intelligence nad machine learning these two branches are booming and the package are also best in these branches you can also try for gate exam after the civil mechanical or electrical you can get jib in public plus private jobs

Course Curriculum Overview:
I choose this course because I got this course by josaa and csab rounds and I choose it as I was a partial dropper as well as I was having interest In core. Faculty is well qualified phd holder from a reputed college like iit , iiits and they teach very well in smart board. We have 4 exams per year , one mid sem , one end sem per semester and it is little bit difficult depending on how we study throughout semester
Placement Experience:
For good placements we should have no supplies and cg above 7 . Lastly many good companies visited like reliance , jsw , oracle . In mechanical average package is 6-8 lakh and highest package is 1.5 crore. In mechanical 95 percent get placed. After getting degree I want to give upsc .

Course Curriculum Overview:
The faculty of this course are highly qualified and their methods are quite sufficient to understand the concept. They are kind and supportive to the students. They will always help in your problems.
Remarks:
I choose this college for its location. It is based in Himachal and it is on a good location. I just give jee main and get this college I didn't appear for any interview or anything. I prepare for jee main by taking coaching in my drop year

Course Curriculum Overview:
Course curriculum is good except 1st year courses which are same for each branch students. They can be changed as per me. In Academics, its really hard to survive in circuital branches, others are still good.Faculties are good but they could be better.
Placement Experience:
Placements are being offered. There was a decay in placements graph post covid but its increasing again. At this time , only mechanical department has a record of 100 percent placent. Other departments are comparatively less able.

Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose this course because my interest in ohysics peaked during 11th-12th so i wanted to pursue btech in electronics and the course is interesting as of now , I am in my 6th semester and I enjoy exploring my field more in deep. I have even thought of continuing with higher studies after btech. Faculty is very qualified ,almost all of them have completed their btech,mtech and phd form different IIT's and NIT's and have much prior experience in teaching. Most teachers keep the lecture very interesting and in classrooms we are taught whiteboard or digital pen display board Exams are conducted 2 times in a year that is 4 times in a year, out of which 2 are midsems i.e between each semester of 30 marks each and 2 are end sems conducted at end of each semester so making total of 4 exams per year. End sems are of 50 marks each, midsems are kept difficult than end sems. And the final cgpa is based on 30(midsem)+50(endsem)+20(internal) Total of 100 marks
Placement Experience:
Placement percemtage is great here , especially B.arch and mechanical branch btech, they achieved 100% placement last year 2024, Also skme students acheive high packages of crores in IT branch and of 30-40lpa in core branches. Mean packages are around 10-12lpa. Eligibilty criteria depends on the coming companies which ks mostly based on cgpa around 6.5 above for some companies and mostly above 7.5 or 8. Most students are placed in the starting of final year and rest follwed by them in upcoming last smester , and those interested in higher studies opt for gate exam and uptil now many students have scored among top 50 AIR and even top 10 AIR.

Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum has updated now and much new subjects have added in this curriculum which provides the exposure to industry relevant subjects at very ground level and the professors are doc and post doc from iits
Remarks:
The college campus is beautiful. It is the most beautiful NIT. Their are seperate departments for all the streams and jee and josaa counselling is required to get the admission. The cutoffs are not very high

Course Curriculum Overview:
I want to complete my B.tech from NIT Hamirpur. this is my choice to be get admitted in this college . the faculty of this college is so good and supporting in nature . There is no difficulty level here.
Placement Experience:
I am not included in any internship programme . Generally the students of third and fourth opted the internship because of their knowledge and experience in any clubs and societies. The plan of my life is to become successful in my life.
