IIT JAM Admit Card 2027 Date

IIT Kharagpur will provide the hall ticket through JOAPS on jam.iitkgp.ac.in. The admit card is not sent by post or as an email attachment. The IIT JAM 2027 dates separate registration, hall-ticket access, the test and result stages.

How to Download the IIT JAM Admit Card

1. Open jam.iitkgp.ac.in and enter the JAM 2027 JOAPS portal when admit-card downloads begin.
2. Log in using your enrolment ID and password.
3. Open the admit card and check your name, paper code, photograph and allotted centre.
4. Download the file and print a clear copy, preferably in colour.
5. Keep the saved file and printed copy for examination and admission requirements.

Details to Check on the Hall Ticket

If any entry is wrong, email jam@iitkgp.ac.in. Include the registration or enrolment number, the incorrect entry and the correction needed. Keep your application and the relevant proof ready for the office's response. Do not alter the downloaded hall ticket yourself.

For a two-paper application, check both paper names and their sessions. Also read the venue and reporting instructions carefully; the morning start time alone does not tell you when the centre begins entry.

Photo ID and Documents for Exam Entry

Carry a printed admit card and the original, valid photo ID specified in your application. The admit card alone is not enough. A photocopy, scan, expired ID or document displayed on a phone does not replace the required original.

A colour print of the admit card is preferred. Make sure the photograph and signature are clear; a print that cuts off the centre address or candidate details needs to be printed again. Preserve the hall ticket after the test because the admitting institute may ask for it.

IIT JAM 2027 Paper Timings

Each paper lasts three hours. If you are taking two papers, they must be in different sessions. Use the reporting time and entry instructions on your hall ticket rather than treating 9:30 AM or 2:30 PM as an arrival time.

Compensatory time

Eligible candidates receive 60 minutes of compensatory time per paper. The facility includes eligible persons with less than 40% disability who have difficulty in writing, subject to the prescribed certificates. Candidates eligible for a scribe can receive the extra time without choosing a scribe.

Candidates who are not eligible for the scribe facility need the prescribed medical certificate establishing their physical limitation to write. Complete the required application and certification process; an extra hour is not automatically available merely on request at the centre.

With the approved extra hour, the morning session ends at 1:30 PM and the afternoon session at 6:30 PM. Permitted late entry does not earn additional time to make up for the delay.

IIT JAM Exam-day Rules

• Do not bring mobile phones, smart watches, personal calculators or other electronic communication devices into the examination hall.
• Printed, scanned and handwritten study material is prohibited inside the hall.
• Keep your fingertips clean and free of ink, mehndi or similar coatings; fingerprint and photograph verification may be used.
• Use the on-screen calculator. For numerical answers, use the virtual numeric keypad; the physical keyboard is disabled.
• Write your name and registration number on the supplied scribble pad and return it at the end.

Practise numerical entry before the examination so that using the keypad does not interrupt your calculations. The IIT JAM 2025 question papers provide subject-wise questions for that practice. Follow the venue and reporting instructions printed on your hall ticket.

Admit Card Download Problems and Corrections

Forgotten login details

Look for the enrolment ID in the registration email or SMS. If you cannot remember the password, use the recovery option available in JOAPS. Use your own registered contact details and do not share the OTP or password with anyone offering to download the card.

Admit card not showing after release

First confirm that you are in the JAM 2027 portal and that the download period has started. Check the application status and any unresolved scrutiny message. An incomplete application or unpaid fee cannot be treated as a confirmed entry just because an account exists.

If an accepted application still has no downloadable card after release, contact the JAM office with your enrolment ID and a description of the problem. If the file downloads but prints incompletely, check the saved document before printing again.

Does an admit card confirm admission eligibility?

No. A hall ticket permits examination entry subject to the stated requirements. The admitting institute separately checks your qualifying degree, subjects, certificates and other programme conditions. Keep the application documents even after the examination.
