JEE Main response sheet was released after 5 days of JEE Main 2026 examination. JEE Main 2026 Session 1 concluded on 29 January 2026, and the response sheet of JEE Main 2026 Session 1 was released on 4 February 2026.
NTA also released JEE Main provisional answer key along with the response sheet. As per the official notification, JEE Main answer key challenge window was open from 4 February to 6 February 2026.
- Objection window will allow candidates file objections against incorrect answers in the JEE Main provisional answer key.
- Only the paid challenges will be considered that are submitted within the prescribed time.
- Final answer key will be released only after the objections are examined by subject experts.
- JEE Main Session 1 result will be released by 12 February 2026.
- For Session 2 of JEE Main 2026, the response sheet is likely to be released on 14 or 15 April 2026.
- JEE Main recorded response sheet for Session 2 will be available for 2-3 days on the official website.

In a Reddit Post, user “One_Confidence_1491” asked if anyone knew when the JEE Main response sheet be released.
As per the past years’ JEE Main response sheet release dates, NTA releases response sheets after 3-4 days of concluding the JEE Main examination. This year, JEE Main exam concluded on 29 January, and the response sheet was released on 4 February 2026
JEE Main Response Sheet: How to Download
NTA published the JEE Main 2026 response sheet of appeared candidates in Session 1 on the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. You can follow the steps listed below to download your JEE Main response sheet 2026.
- Go to the official website of JEE Main 2026.
- On the official website, click on the link for JEE Main response sheet 2026.
- The link will take you to the JEE Main login page and you must use your JEE Main application number and password to login.
- After you log in to the JEE Main website, JEE Main response sheet will be displayed on your screen.
- You must take printout of your JEE Main response sheet for future reference.

JEE Main 2026 Answer Key
NTA will first release JEE Main 2026 provisional answer key along with the JEE Main response sheet. It will be released to allow candidates to challenge answers in JEE Main provisional answer keys.
- JEE Main provisional answer keys are usually available for download for 2-3 days, as mentioned in JEE Main 2026 official brochure.
- To challenge JEE Main answer keys, you will be required pay a non-refundable amount of INR 200 per question.

After the JEE Main answer key challenge period is over, NTA will examine all the challenges received. Once examined, JEE Main final answer key will be released. NTA will also release the JEE Main result based on final answer key published on JEE Main website.
NTA will not accept any grievance regarding JEE Main answer keys and recorded responses after the JEE Main result is declared

Once the JEE Main provisional answer key is released, it also opens the JEE Main answer key objection window. This allows you to raise objections against the incorrect answers in provisional answer keys.
JEE Main answer key objection window is generally available for around 2-3 days. You can follow the steps listed below to raise objections against JEE Main provisional answer keys.
- Go to the official website of JEE Main and login using your application number and password.
- Click on the link for JEE Main answer key objection and fill out the objection form
- You must select the question ID and its Option ID you believe is incorrect.
- You must also upload supportin proof for each question you object.
- For each question you object for, you must pay INR 200 as objection fee.
Ques. How many questions in JEE Main were dropped last year?
Ans. In JEE Main Session 1, a total of 14 questions were dropped last year. 12 questions were dropped from JEE Main session 1, and 2 questions were dropped from JEE Main session 2. Most of the questions were dropped from Physics last year, including 8 questions in Session 1 and 2 questions in Session 2.
JEE Main Response Sheet: Score Calculation
JEE Main 2026 raw scores are calculated based on the JEE Main exam pattern. JEE Main raw score is converted into percentile scores after applying normalization.
- After calculating raw scores, normalization is applied to ensure fairness across various JEE Main shifts.
- After the normalization process, JEE Main percentile scores are calculated based on which the JEE Main rank is decided.
JEE Main Raw Score Calculation
NTA calculates JEE Main raw scores using the JEE Main marking scheme as discussed in the JEE Main official brochure. As per the official JEE Main 2026 Marking Scheme;
- You will get +4 marks for each correct answer for MCQs and NAT questions.
- -1 mark will be deducted from your overall score for each incorrect answer for MCQs and NAT questions.
- For each drawing question in Paper 2A (BArch), you will get a maximum of 50 marks.
- No negative marking is applicable for unattempted questions and drawing questions.

Ques. How do I calculate JEE Main score using answer key?
Ans. You can calculate your JEE Main score using the answer key and OMR sheet as follows.
- Count the number of correct answers by comparing your OMR sheet and answer key.
- Count number of incorrect answers on your response sheet.
- Multiply total number of correct answers by 4 and multiply incorrect answers by -1.
- Subtract number of incorrect answers from the score obtained, and you will get your total JEE Main raw score.
JEE Main Normalization and Percentile Calculation
Difficulty level of JEE Main 2026 is different for each shift. To ensure fairness across shifts of varying difficulty levels, NTA uses JEE Main normalization process.
- NTA will convert raw score of each candidate into percentile score.
- Percentile score will indicate the relative performance of candidate.
- Percentile score also indicates percentage of candidates scoring scored EQUAL TO OR BELOW a particular candidate in that shift.
JEE Main 2026 percentile score is calculated using the following formula.
Percentile = 100 x M/N
Where
- “M” is Number of candidates who appeared in the ‘Shift’ with a raw score EQUAL TO OR LESS than the candidate.
- “N" is the total number of candidates who appeared in the ‘Shift’.

Ques. If my JEE Main shift was easy, will my score increase or decrease?
Ans. If you appeared in an easy shift in JEE Main, your raw score will be same as you scored in your attempt. However, your percentile scores may fall based on the difficulty level of remaining shifts.

- If more than 1 options are correct, you will get +4 marks only if you have attempted that question.
