CBSE Class 12 Business Studies question papers for 2026, 2025, 2024 and 2023 are available below. The latest section has Sets 1, 2 and 3 with paper codes 66/5/1, 66/5/2 and 66/5/3.

Each 2026 paper had 34 questions for 80 marks and a three-hour writing time. The first 20 questions were MCQs. The remaining questions carried 3, 4 or 6 marks and included business cases, calculations and direct theory questions.

CBSE Class 12 Business Studies Paper Pattern 2026

Set 1, code 66/5/1, moved from short concept checks to detailed answers. The MCQs carried 20 marks. The four 3-mark questions carried 12 marks, the six 4-mark questions carried 24 marks and the four 6-mark questions carried 24 marks.

Answers to 3-mark questions could be written in 50 to 75 words. The paper suggested about 150 words for 4-mark answers and about 200 words for 6-mark answers. All parts of one question had to be attempted together.

CBSE Class 12 Business Studies Question Paper Analysis 2026

The Set 1 paper covered business environment, planning, organising, staffing, directing, controlling, financial management, financial markets, marketing and consumer protection. Many questions placed these ideas inside a company or consumer case instead of asking only for definitions.

MCQs and assertion-reason questions

The first 20 questions mixed direct concepts with short cases. Question 1 used battery-safety rules and import duties to test business-environment dimensions. Question 2 asked which factor in a dividend decision explains a change in share price. Question 6 used a fall in an electric-vehicle company’s market share to test why a plan may fail when the business environment changes quickly.

Case-based written questions

The written section required students to identify a concept and then explain it from the facts given. Question 21 combined the marketing concept with the societal marketing concept through a clothing company using recycled material. Question 23 used a production shortfall to test the last steps of controlling. Question 28 asked for consumer rights after an insurer rejected a theft claim.

Calculation and longer answers

Question 27 compared two companies with the same capital but different debt and equity. Students had to calculate earnings per share and use trading on equity to explain the better return. The 6-mark questions joined several parts of a topic. Question 31 tested three elements of the marketing mix, while Question 33 asked for missing steps in the employee selection process.

The available 2025 papers are Set 1, Set 2 and Set 3 with codes 66/1/1, 66/1/2 and 66/1/3. Their covers show 34 questions, 80 marks and a three-hour writing time.

The 2024 table has 15 papers under codes 66/1/1 to 66/5/3. The first two numbers identify the series and the last number identifies the set within that series.
