CBSE Class 12 Paper Analysis 2027 will be added after the board exams. The actual 2027 papers are not available yet. CBSE has released the 2026-27 sample papers, while the latest completed board papers are from 2026.

The 2026 papers show clear differences between subjects. Physics, Chemistry and Biology each had 33 questions for 70 marks. Mathematics had 38 questions for 80 marks, while English Core had 13 main questions divided into Reading, Creative Writing and Literature.

CBSE Class 12 Paper Analysis 2027

A paper analysis can be prepared only after the exam. Until then, the 2026-27 sample papers show the question-paper design for the current session. The previous completed board papers are useful for checking the number of questions, marks and question types used in the exam.

CBSE does not give an official easy, moderate or difficult label to each paper. Such labels can differ by subject, set and student. The analysis below uses the structure and questions found in the actual 2026 papers.

CBSE Class 12 Paper Analysis 2026

The reviewed 2026 Set 1 papers show two broad formats. Physics, Chemistry and Biology had 33 questions and 70 marks. Mathematics had 38 questions and 80 marks. English Core also carried 80 marks, but its 13 main questions were grouped by skill instead of the five-section Science and Mathematics format.

CBSE Class 12 Physics Paper Analysis 2026

Physics code 55/1/1 had 33 questions for 70 marks. The paper moved from one-mark MCQs to short answers, case-based questions and five-mark answers. Questions 29 and 30 were the two case-based questions. They covered a moving-coil galvanometer and the photoelectric effect, so students had to use concepts and calculations within the same case.

CBSE Class 12 Chemistry Paper Analysis 2026

Chemistry code 56/1/1 also had 33 questions for 70 marks. Its two case-based questions carried four marks each. Question 29 used amines and related reactions, while Question 30 used valence bond theory and crystal field theory for coordination compounds. The five-mark section included organic reaction tests and conversions.

CBSE Class 12 Biology Paper Analysis 2026

Biology code 57/1/1 followed the same 33-question, 70-mark structure. The case-based part used diagrams and data instead of only direct recall. Question 29 used the distribution of two barnacle species to test competition in ecology. Question 30 used bar graphs from plant crosses to test genetics.

CBSE Class 12 Mathematics Paper Analysis 2026

Mathematics code 65/1/1 had 38 questions for 80 marks. Questions 1 to 18 were MCQs, while Questions 19 and 20 used assertion and reason. The three case studies used revenue and maxima, probability, and integration through a roundabout and circular pond. Internal choice was available in some questions outside Section A.

CBSE Class 12 English Core Paper Analysis 2026

English Core code 1/1/1 had 13 main questions for 80 marks. Reading Skills carried 22 marks, Creative Writing carried 18 marks and Literature carried 40 marks. The writing section included notice writing, invitation or reply, a letter or job application, and an article or report. The Literature section combined extracts with short and long answers.

CBSE Class 12 Question-level Findings from 2026 Papers

The case-based questions did not follow one common subject style. Science papers used passages, diagrams or data from the subject, while Mathematics used real-life situations that had to be converted into equations or probabilities.

CBSE Class 12 Paper Codes and Sets

Each booklet carries a question-paper code, such as 55/1/1 for Physics Set 1. Use the code printed on the booklet when checking a marking scheme or solution. A question number from one set may point to a different question in another set.
