CBSE Class 12 Biology question papers for 2026, 2025, 2024 and 2023 are available below. The tables keep the paper codes separate, and the 2025 papers have solution links for each listed code.

The 2026 Set 1 paper, code 57/1/1, had 33 questions for 70 marks. Students had three hours to write the paper and 15 minutes to read it before the exam started.

CBSE Class 12 Biology Question Paper 2026

The 2026 Set 1 paper uses code 57/1/1. CBSE has released 16 Biology papers for the year, covering the 57/1, 57/2, 57/3, 57/4, 57/5 and 57(B) series. All sets are available on the official question-paper page.

CBSE Class 12 Biology Paper Pattern 2026

The paper moved from objective questions to short answers, case studies and five-mark answers. Section C carried the highest total of 21 marks, while Section D used diagrams or data in two case-based questions.

CBSE Class 12 Biology Question Paper Analysis 2026

The Set 1 paper covered reproduction, genetics, human health, biotechnology and ecology. It did not test these areas through direct recall alone. Several questions used diagrams, experimental situations, bar graphs or short case studies.

Objective and assertion-reason questions

Section A had 16 one-mark questions. Question 1 asked when emasculation is not needed in artificial hybridisation. Question 8 used a chromosome-pairing diagram to test independent assortment. Questions 13 to 16 were assertion-reason questions on industrial melanism, transgenic cow Rosie, sewage-treatment flocs and food chains.

Diagram and case-based questions

The paper used visual information in the higher-mark sections. Question 28 asked students to read an agarose gel electrophoresis setup. Question 29 used the distribution of two barnacle species to test competition, while Question 30 used bar graphs from plant crosses to test genotype and inheritance.

Five-mark questions

Section E joined related ideas in one answer. Question 31 covered fertilisation, implantation and assisted reproductive technology. Question 32 covered DNA structure or transcription, and Question 33 offered a choice between malaria and biofertilisers. These questions required a full explanation, correct terms and labelled biological steps where asked.

CBSE Class 12 Biology Question Paper 2025

The available 2025 papers cover the 57/1, 57/2, 57/4, 57/5, 57/6 and 57/7 series, along with 57(B). Paper code 57/1/2 is Set 2 and had 33 questions for 70 marks. The exam duration was three hours.

CBSE Class 12 Biology Question Paper 2024

The available 2024 papers cover the 57/1 to 57/5 series. Each code ends in 1, 2 or 3 for the booklet set.

CBSE Class 12 Biology Question Paper 2023

The available 2023 papers include nine sets from the 57/1, 57/3 and 57/5 series, along with code 57/B. The last digit identifies Set 1, Set 2 or Set 3 within each numbered series.
