Hindi Core and Hindi Elective use different books and paper codes. Hindi Core paper 2/1/1 used Aroh, Vitan and Abhivyakti aur Madhyam. Hindi Elective paper 29/1/1 used Antra, Antral and Abhivyakti aur Madhyam. The two papers should not be mixed while downloading a paper or its marking scheme.

|---|---|---|
| Subject code | 302 | 002 |
| Paper code checked | 2/1/1 | 29/1/1 |
| Main questions | 12 | 13 |
| Main literature books | Aroh and Vitan | Antra and Antral |
| Theory marks and time | 80 marks, 3 hours | 80 marks, 3 hours |
Both papers had three sections with the same mark split. The content changed because Hindi Core and Hindi Elective use different literature books.
| Section | What it covered | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| A | Unseen prose and poetry passages | 18 |
| B | Writing and Abhivyakti aur Madhyam | 22 |
| C | Prescribed poetry, prose and supplementary text | 40 |
| Total | – | 80 |
The observations below come from Hindi Core paper code 2/1/1 and Hindi Elective paper code 29/1/1. They describe the topics that appeared in those two booklets.
Section A carried 18 marks. The unseen prose passage discussed the difference between culture and civilisation. The unseen poem used images from village life and nature. The questions included MCQs as well as short written answers based on the passages.
Section B carried 22 marks. It included a 120-word creative piece for six marks and questions from Abhivyakti aur Madhyam on radio, television news, feature writing, special reports and adapting a story for another medium. Section C carried 40 marks and used extracts and questions from Aroh and Vitan.
The unseen prose passage in Section A focused on obesity, public health and lifestyle. The unseen poem asked about rural culture, old comparisons and the expression of feeling through words and silence.
Section B asked about mass communication, interviews, specialist writing, creative writing, drama and visual images. The creative-writing question was for about 100 words and carried five marks. Section C tested poetry and prose from Antra and longer answers from Antral.
The Class 12 syllabus lists the prescribed units and books. The Class 12 exam pattern covers the common board-paper rules.
The marking schemes give the expected answer points and the marks for each step. They also allow other correct and suitable answers instead of requiring the exact words printed in the scheme.
For Hindi Core, the six-mark creative piece divided marks into content, language and presentation. The Hindi Elective creative piece used the same three checks for five marks. Both schemes say that the same spelling mistake should not be penalised again and again. When an extra answer is attempted, the higher-scoring answer is kept.
