JEE Main 2026 Shift-Wise Reporting Time and Gate Closing Time

JEE Main exam session 2 will take place on April 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8, 2026, in multiple shifts. NTA has already published the JEE Main admit card for April 2 and 4 on the official website. You can check your JEE Main 2026 shift timings on your JEE Main admit card.
- NTA will conduct JEE Main 2026 session 2 in two shifts on each exam day.
- Shift 1 of JEE Main 2026 will be conducted from 9:00 AM and will conclude at 12:00 PM.
- Shift 2 of JEE Main Session 2 will begin at 3:00 PM and will end at 6:00 PM.
- JEE Main exam shift for Paper 2A (BArch), 2B (BPlanning) and both 2A and 2B will take place on April 7.
- For students appearing for BArch and BPlanning paper, the Shift 1 exam will begin at 9:00 AM and will conclude at 12:30 and the Shift 2 will begin at 2:00 PM and will end at 6:30 PM.

Based on a Reddit post, candidates need to send an email to request a change for JEE Main on 5th April because of Easter Sunday. Willing candidates who have sent an email to the NTA will probably get a new exam date. But the official notice related to the JEE Main exam date change for April 5, 2026, has not been released on the official NTA website.

Candidates should follow certain guidelines on JEE Main exam day to avoid cancellation of the result:

FAQs
Ques. Is there any dress code for JEE Main Exam?
Ans. Candidates are advised to wear simple, plain, comfortable clothes on the JEE Main exam day. Any type of metallic accessories on clothes is not allowed.
Ques. What is the shift one timing for JEE Main BTech?
Ans. Candidates need to arrive 2 hours before the exam time. In case of shift one, the arrival timing is 7:00 AM, in the morning and the gate closes at 8:30 AM. The commencement of shift one JEE Main BTech paper takes place from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Ques. Can I reach after the reporting time for JEE Main?
Ans. No candidate is allowed to enter after the gate closing time. If a candidate arrives after the reporting time, he/she is not allowed to enter the examination hall for JEE Main.
