Course Curriculum is well structured ,in first year, evry branch subjects are mostly common and from second year onwards they taught branch specific subjects. Faculties are highly educated and they are also clear their engineering from best colleges

NIT Rourkela is the one of the most prestigious Institute of India and its n i r f ranking is 2 what taking admission candidate need to qualify JEE main and there is no interviews or discussion required for admission

Life of Nitian

What I Liked

I like the night life at NIT Rourkela near the golden jubilee. Everyday after eating we just go there and chill with friends
I like the greenery and the groundsand there are a lot of clubs it's includes acting club technical club and society club and sports club also

What I didn’t like

The worst thing in nit Rourkela the hostel room size is very small and it is given to two people
And from hostel the classrooms are so far like about we need to walk 1 km I hate this one also

Placement Experience:

Right now I am in 2nd year but I have a little knowledge about the placements with my senior said like the average package for NIT Rourkela ec department is around 20 lpa. For computer science department the average packages about 30 lpa.

Remarks:

Generally and as per franking Rourkela is 14th in BTech so the placements are good and the average package in electronics and communication is around 20 lpa NIT Rourkela is third nit I really like the infrastructure in a nit

review on NIT Rourkela

What I Liked

Campus and its weather conditions are what I like here because it is so good here in the spring semester,when it comes to infrastructure I would I am not that satisfied because I expected a lot but as it was old there isn’t much good infrastructure here.The faculty here are good according to me because they teach very nicely.
The faculty here are very nice because they feel the essentiality to make understand the students and which is very helpful during exams if we listen to classes perfectly there will not be any problem in exam times.
When it comes to campus life here we can experience fests like Innovision,Cosmo which are so good to enjoy and we are free to go out and come in off the college where biometric entries are installed.

Placement Experience:

Placement and Job opportunities are good in NIT Rourkela.The average package in our college is good.Many companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Texas, Bhel come for job interviews. The eligibility criteria varies between companies mostly if 7Cgpa is maintained then there is chance that he will sit for most companies whereas for some better companies the keep a cutoff of 8 Cgpa and also8.5 for some companies.

Remarks:

The factors that made me choose this college are area ,weather ,faculty ,infrastructure and college fests which it is famous for like innovision ,Cosmo and Vriddi ,there are many other fests here but these are the main and which are known.The good aspects are there are many holidays and grading sytem is not relative and there many extracurricular activities which can help enjoy college life.Yes I faced group discussions, about which I first felt nervous but when the time came they went on smoothly in which we discussed on ‘how to not worry about financial worries’,which was very nice experience for me.As it is in top 3 Nits it requires good score in JEE MAINS and somewhat relatively less score for reserved categories.

A transformative journey at NIT Rourkela

What I Liked

Campus life is pretty good , best environment and nature
Good faculties, and cultural fests in college

What I didn’t like

sometimes faculties behave strictly in rare situations
Climate, mainly in summer .It is extremely hot in summer

Placement Experience:

Good placements and job opportunities are there in college. Average package of NIT rourkela is 17 lakhs .For placement you need min 8 CGPA after your all 7 semesters.Highest package is 83 lakhs in NIT rourkela

Remarks:

Placements at NIT Rourkela, Good faculty and friendly nature made me to join in this college , and it is near to my home state . Package at NIT Rourkela is good of average package 17,00,000 .good transport facilities

Just a student life in NIT Rourkela

What I Liked

I like the roads builds of this college, the library
The weather here is good at all seasons it's like experiencing all the extremes together

What I didn’t like

The roads here are never ending. It's like if you don't have a cycle then you should walk at least 1 km to have anything
The food that we get here is like arrghhh not at all apatitizing to eat

Placement Experience:

I am a sophomore so from what I know is that the students who have above or 7.0cgpa after all the 4 years . The highest package here last year is 1.2 Crores per annum. And the average package is 13lakhs per annum.

Remarks:

We have gone through the entrance exam called JEE MAINS Every year nearly 10 lakhs+ students write this exam this is usually conducted in January February time After getting results we choose the college according to our rank that got allocated

Wanna know more about NIT rourkela?

What I Liked

One thing I love about this campus is it's so huge 1200 acres and I can just chill in campus after lectures.
And the other thing would be the people and fests which encourages talent, knowledge and different cultures.

What I didn’t like

One thing I dislike is the mess food coming from south I like spicy food and here the way of cooking is little different.
Other this that I don't like would be fests just before exams time.

Placement Experience:

The placement pretty good as compared to other private universities. Placement rate is nice. Te average package is also nice. One can get job easily if they prepare well. There are so many opportunities and companies visiting the college. Even by chance of you don't get any on campus placement i can still try for off campus placement and higher studies.

Remarks:

The first and foremost reason I chose this college is that it's a good NIT witha decent nirf ranking. The placements are better as compared to other private universities and according to my jee mains rank I chose Electronics and communication branch in this college. College admission is based on your JEE mains rank and through josaa and csab counselling one can apply for this college.

A close view to NIT ROURKELA

What I Liked

We have a very big campus of 1200 acres and infrastructure is also very good.
The faculties are very experienced the nightlife of our campuses also amazing.

What I didn’t like

Being one of the top colleges of India our college still doesn't have any sports complex.
So we have a campus size of 1200 acres but only 650 acre is utilised till yet.

Placement Experience:

There are many big companies like apple Google BHEL DRDO which come to the college for recruitment every year around 1000 offers are made and the highest of a made last year was 1.2 crore almost all the students are placed and my plans after getting the degree is to get into a startup.

Remarks:

It is one of the premier colleges in India and I have to appear jee mains fir getting into the institute. I have prepared for the exam from a coaching centre. I had to score more than 97%ile to get into the college.

Life of nitian

What I Liked

The main thing I like in the college is the greenery and the infrastructure of the college

What I didn’t like

I the thing I don't like in this college is the Mess food

Placement Experience:

As per the talk the placements are good and when coming to internship there are less internships offered to the electronic and communication brands as compared to cse branch. As compared to the last year there is decrement in placements this year

Remarks:

The main reason I choose the college is because of which nirf ranking and it is ranked in the top 3 of NITs the main factor is it placements the admission process to join our college is Josa counselling it is conducted after the JEE advanced examination for joining in NIT uses need to get a good percentile in mains either first shift or the second shift the cutoff for OC candidates in NIT Rourkela for ECE branch is 8501

Journey Of NITIAN.

What I Liked

everything is very beautiful. the campus is always top notch with the social life at its peak.

What I didn’t like

the number of hostel should be increased for girls. the administration lacks at some points which should improve.

Placement Experience:

As it is one of the reputed college, if you maintain your cgpa you will definitely get very good placements without any doubt but yes you need to crack the tests and other rounds followed after that. In 3rd year, one should get internship through oncampus that will too play a major role in their placement.

Remarks:

I appeared for JEE Mains and then according to my percentile I selected NIT Rourkela for counselling and then according to rounds of counselling I got my branch. As i belong to odisha , i too had state quota while admission procedure.

Things you must know before coming to NIT ROURKELA

What I Liked

Campus area is large , there are many hangout places inside and outside the campus and the town is only 7 km away for the campus
Faculty is so good that they will take us for their research and it will very useful

What I didn’t like

No single rooms for the first years students and nonveg taste somewhat bad
There is network speed limit which is around 15 mbps while we are connected to college wifi

Placement Experience:

Campus placement are more often here , students can earn through paud intern from 6 th semister itself and this year they the highest package has reached 1.2 crore pre annum and there are good top companies visits here such as google amazon mahindra tata and wipro etc

Remarks:

Mechanical Engineering in nit Rourkela has a huge value and the packages are also high and due to this i have choosen this college over the other colleges no group discussion and no interview only based on jee mains result
