VITEEE 2027: Application, Exam Dates, Eligibility, Pattern and Admission

What’s New in VITEEE 2026?
VITEEE 2027 applications are open. VIT started registration on 20 October 2026, and the last date is 31 March 2027. The exam is tentatively planned from 27 April to 2 May 2027.
VITEEE is the entrance exam for BTech admission at VIT Vellore, VIT Chennai, VIT-AP and VIT Bhopal. The 2027 paper has 100 questions, carries 400 marks and lasts two hours.
VITEEE 2027 at a glanceApply by 31 March 2027. The exam has 100 MCQs, +4/-1 marking and one permitted attempt. Result and counselling are tentatively planned for the second week of May.

VITEEE 2027 Eligibility
Applicants must have passed Class 12 in 2025 or 2026, or must be appearing in 2027. A student who passed in 2024 or earlier is not eligible for VITEEE 2027. The qualifying course must be regular, full-time and formal, with English as a subject.

Students cannot combine marks or subjects from different boards. VIT also asks for proof when a student uses a category or regional relaxation.
VITEEE 2027 Exam Pattern
VITEEE 2027 is a two-hour computer-based test in English. It has 100 multiple-choice questions. Each correct answer gives four marks, each wrong answer loses one mark, and an unanswered question gets zero.

The timer is fixed by section. Mathematics or Biology gets 50 minutes, Physics and Chemistry get 30 minutes each, and English with Aptitude gets 10 minutes. The four time limits make up the full two-hour test.

MPCEA and BPCEA
MPCEA has Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude. BPCEA replaces Mathematics with Biology. A student can appear only once, so the paper choice has to match the Class 12 subjects and the BTech programmes the student wants.
Students who take MPCEA and meet the PCM marks rule can be considered for all BTech programmes. BPCEA students can apply only for the six Biology-based programmes named by VIT. These include Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Bioinformatics, Health Sciences and Technology, Health Informatics, and Education Technology at the campuses where VIT offers them.
Paper choice affects the available coursesA BPCEA student cannot use the Biology paper for every BTech programme. A PCMB student may choose MPCEA or BPCEA, but the selected paper decides which course options remain open during counselling.
Result and Counselling
VIT prepares a merit rank after the exam. The 2027 result and counselling are tentatively planned for the second week of May. Students then choose a campus, BTech programme and fee category during online counselling.
VIT allots seats according to merit rank, the choices filled and the seats available. Eligibility is checked after the tuition fee is paid. A counselling call or a rank does not confirm admission until the student meets the Class 12 rules and completes the document check.
Application Fee and Test City
The VITEEE 2027 application fee is Rs. 1,450 for test centres in India. For centres outside India, the fee is the INR value of USD 90. The application fee and later counselling fee are non-refundable.
As per the official application page, VIT allots the test city from the correspondence address in the form. The applicant must upload an accepted address proof. The filled form does not need to be sent by post.
Important differenceThe Class 12 marks rule decides whether a student is eligible. The VITEEE rank decides the order in which students are considered during counselling. These are separate checks.
