
Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has released the CLAT 2024 Guidelines for Persons with Disabilities by for candidates who are preparing to appear for the CLAT 2024.
Candidates with benchmark disabilities will be given extra time in the CLAT exam, according to the official notice. Candidates with "specified disabilities" will also receive scribe/reader assistance during the admission test.
CLAT 2024 Application Process has been started on 1 July 2023 by NLUs and the last date for filling application form is the exam is 3 November 2023.

Extra Time: For CLAT 2024, candidates who are “persons with benchmark disabilities” as defined in Section 2(r) of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (the “Act”), are entitled to 40 minutes extra time (compensatory time) for the two-hour exam. CLAT 2024 will provide such candidates with a total of 2 (two) hours and 40 (forty) minutes.
On the day of CLAT 2024 exam, candidates with benchmark disabilities seeking compensatory time should bring their original Disability Certificates.
Scribe Assistance: Candidates who have a benchmark disability of not less than 40% or fall under the category of "specified disabilities" are eligible to request the assistance of a scribe or reader during the CLAT 2024 examination. To avail of this facility, candidates must carry the necessary certificates that validate their disability status.
Criteria for Scribe Assistance for CLAT UG 2024:The chosen scribe should not have completed their class 11th qualification.
Criteria for Scribe Assistance for CLAT PG 2024: The chosen scribe should not have completed education beyond the 12th grade.
Required Documents: Candidates who are entitled to extra time or any other facilities during the CLAT 2024 examination are required to carry the necessary certificates as per the official notification available on the examination portal.
