NEET dropped questions will be listed on the official re-NEET final answer key. NTA drops questions after determining if there are any wrong questions or questions with incorrect options.

  • NEET questions dropped (if any) are determined only after reviewing the challenges submitted by students against the provisional NEET answer key.

  • For dropped questions, all students will get +4 marks added to the total NEET 2026 score.
  • You will get full marks for dropped questions irrespective of whether you have attempted the question or not.

  • Candidates will be given full marks whether they have attempted the question or not.

  • The deciding factor for the dropped questions is subject experts, and their decision cannot be questioned.

Marking Scheme for Dropped Questions

According to the official NTA marking scheme, dropped questions are handled in a fundamentally different way from regular questions to be fair to all candidates.

  • Every candidate is given the advantage of the dropped question.
  • Dropped questions are not negatively marked.
  • The marks given for dropped questions become part of the final score and rank calculation.
  • Students should use only the final answer key to calculate their NEET scores.

Questions With Multiple Correct Options

In some questions, after analyzing the objections, NTA may determine that a question has multiple correct answers. The assessment of such questions will be based on the updated final answer key.

When a question has multiple correct answers:

  • Those candidates who choose any of the correct options will be given full marks.
  • Candidates who select any of the incorrect options are awarded negative marks as per the NEET marking scheme.
  • Questions with all 4 options correct are awarded +4 marks only if the question is attempted.
  • Those candidates who do not attempt the question are given no marks.
