The revised exam pattern for NEET 2025 has been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA). According to the official notice, NTA will follow the pre-covid exam pattern in the 2025 exams.
Some of the changes in the Biology exam pattern for 2025 are:
- The Biology Subject will now have only one section with 90 questions (Zoology+Botany).
- The total duration of the exam is reduced to 3 hours (180 minutes).
- The Optional Questions have been removed from the NEET exam. All the questions are now compulsory to be answered.
- The exam for NEET 2025 will be an offline paper-pen-based test (PBT) which will be conducted on a single day and a single shift.
The Biology section is the most important part of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2025 exam. It carries 50% of the total weightage and is divided into two subjects i.e. Botany and Zoology. Both of these subjects carry equal weightage in the NEET exam making a total of 360 marks divided into 180 marks each. The syllabus of Biology is based on the Class 11th and 12th. Having 70-80% weightage of Class 12th and 20-30% of Class 11th Syllabus.

Is the NEET 2025 Exam going to be Conducted in Two Phases?
No, the NEET exam is not going to be conducted in two phases. According to the Official notice released by NTA the NEET 2025 exam is going to be conducted in Pen and Paper mode (OMR-based) in a single day and single shift.
In the official notification released on January 16, 2025, NTA stated, "As decided by National Medical Commission, it is informed that the NEET (UG) 2025 shall be conducted in Pen and Paper mode (OMR based) in Single day and Single Shift”

Important Points for Marking the OMR Sheet of the NEET 2025 Exam
The NEET 2025 exam is an OMR-based test, the candidates have to mark their answers in the OMR sheets. In case any candidate marks more than one answer in any question, the question is considered unattempted and no marks are allotted for that question.

- Merit Awards for NRI and Foreign students: For the top 10 students of each branch of a program from 1st to final year with a record of 75% above attendance and no history of arrears, also do not violate the university's code of conduct.
- Cent percent Attendance Awards: Students who maintain a record of 100% attendance
