NTA has updated the NEET 2025 photo guidelines to ensure clarity. In 2024 the photo could be either in colour or black and white, the 2025 guidelines require the photo to be in colour with a white or light color background.

  • The photo file size remains the same (10 KB to 200KB), in JPEG or JPG format as it enhances the overall quality of applications.
  • NTA has not made any changes in signature guidelines, you have to upload the scanned image in JG/JPEG format with file size between 4KB and 30KB.

“Almost 12% of candidates in NEET 2024 had problems because their photographs were too small, fuzzy, or lacked a date or name.”

Candidates need to strictly adhere to the guidelines of NTA for uploading the photograph and signature while applying for NEET 2025. The file size, format, and clarity must be as per the required standards.

NEET 2025 Photo-Size and Signature Guidelines

According to NTA, for NEET 2025, the requirements for the photograph and the signature that have to be uploaded by the candidate are mentioned.

What are NEET Photo Size Guidelines Abroad

NEET is conducted abroad as well for Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizens ( OCI), PIOs( Persons of Indian Origin) and Foreign Nationals are eligible to appear from NEET Abroad.

  • Candidates applying from abroad must follow the same registration process as those in India, but they need to choose an international test center during the application.
  • Exam Date and Duration: NEET is usually held on the same date for both domestic and international candidates, and the exam duration and format remain the same.

What is the size of the photo in NEET 2025?

For NEET 2025, candidates must upload a recent photograph that complies with the specific guidelines provided.

How many photos are required for NEET 2025?

Candidates have to upload two photographs in NEET 2025.

  • Passport size photograph, with size 2.5 x 3.5 inches.

Both images must have the candidate's name and the date of capture printed on them, and they must be in color, in the JPG or JPEG format, and have a file size of 10 KB to 200 KB.

Do's and Don'ts While Uploading a Photograph for NEET 2025

Make sure the photo is recent and well-lit with good lighting. Avoid posting a picture that is too old or blurry.
80% of the face must be visible with no shadow on the face. Avoid wearing caps or goggles, unless medically required.
Upload the picture in JPG/JPEG format within the size limit. Don't use a picture with a colored background other than white.
The candidate's name and date should be printed on the photograph. Do not post an edited or digitally enhanced image.

NEET 2025 Signature Guidelines

NTA has not made any changes in signature guidelines, you have to upload the scanned image in JG/JPEG format with file size between 4KB and 30KB.

  • The signature should be made on black ballpoint pen on white paper.
  • The signature should be made in running letters and not in full capital letters.

What is the Photo ID Proof for NEET 2025?

For NEET 2025, candidates are required to bring a valid photo ID proof along with their admit card to the examination center. The photo ID proof must match the details provided in the NEET application form.
