What's New in Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling 2024?
Tamil Nadu UG NEET counselling is conducted for 85% of state quota seats for MBBS/BDS courses. The counselling process is conducted online for Government and Private Medical Institutes in Tamil Nadu is conducted by The Directorate of Medical Education (DME).
- Tamil Nadu counselling typically consists of four rounds: Round 1, Round 2, a Mop-up Round, and a Stray Vacancy Round.
- The authorities will grant admission for 8000 MBBS and 2873 BDS seats based on the NEET rank of candidates.
- Over 42, 000 students registered for MBBS and BDS admissions in Tamil Nadu in 2024. With 9,050 seats available for MBBS and 2,200 available for dental courses.

Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling 2025 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to give the NEET 2025 entrance examination and to qualify to appear in the counselling List, Candidates must ensure that they clear the following criteria:

Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling 2025: Domicile Criteria
The Domicile Criteria for Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling 2025 are listed below:
- Candidates who have completed classes 6 to 12 need to provide a nativity certificate. PRC will not be accepted in place of the nativity certificate.
- Students who have passed classes 6 to 12 fully or partially outside of the state need to submit the original certificates of their parents including their Birth Certificate, Ration Card, and Academic Score Cards.
- Candidates also need to submit a declaration stating that they are not appearing in any other native state for counselling.
- NRI & PIO candidates are eligible under Management Quota.
- Students from other states will be given admission under the open category and not the state quota.
