What's New In Assam NEET Counselling 2025?
The Directorate of Medical Education, Assam has released the schedule for the 1st round of online counselling for admission into MBBS and BDS courses under State Quota in Government Medical and Dental Colleges of Assam for the academic year 2025–26. Candidates who qualified NEET UG 2025 and meet the eligibility criteria as per Assam Medical Admission Rules can register online through the official website – www.dme.assam.gov.in.
This counselling is only for State Quota seats, and the entire process including registration, choice filling, and seat allotment will be conducted online. No offline counselling will be held.
Eligibility:
All eligible candidates from General, PwD, SC, ST, OBC/MOBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and special categories like Freedom Fighters, Martyrs of Assam Movement, Ex-Servicemen, Sports Quota etc., must register and participate online. Special quota candidates must also attend physical document verification on July 18, 2025.

Candidates applying under Special Quota must appear for document verification on July 18, 2025, as per the notice No. DME/UG/2025/663865/3 dated July 14, 2025.

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) conducts the Assam NEET Counselling for admissions in MBBS and BDS courses in institutes across the state of Assam. For Assam NEET 2025 counselling the state quota seats will have 3 rounds of counselling, with an additional Stray Vacancy Round conducted when there is need to fill any remaining seats.
The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) will release the merit list of eligible students once the NEET exams are conducted and the results are out. Candidates can expect the General (UR) category to have a cut-off range of 550 - 580 marks, while SC and ST categories are expected to range from 400 to 450 and 350 to 400 marks.
The Assam NEET Counselling is conducted for 1500 MBBS and 176 BDS seats across 12 medical and 3 medical colleges in the state of Assam. 85% of the state quota seats are filled using the State Merit List and 15% by the All India Merit List. Only the candidates who have qualified the NEET 2025 exam will be eligible to apply for the counselling process.

How many rounds of counselling are there in NEET Assam?
The Assam NEET Counselling will have a total of four rounds of counselling. The fourth round is the Stray Vacancy Round, it is conducted to fill any remaining seats after the three rounds.

The Assam NEET Counselling Registration is majorly executed online. The registration form will be made available on the official Website once the dates are announced.

Yes, as of 2024, DME has announced a 5% seat reservation for students who have studied from class 7th to class 10th in government schools under SEBA and class 11th and class 12th in State Government Schools/Colleges/Provincialised Colleges of Assam under AHSEC.

Assam NEET Counselling 2025 Seat Reservation
According to the guidelines issued by the Government of Assam, the Assam NEET Counselling 2025 selection will be divided into five categories: OBC (15%), SC (7%), ST (Plains)(10%), ST (Hills) (5%) and PH (3%) reservations. The remaining 60% seats are available to unreserved applicants. Candidates belonging to any of the reserved categories must provide a relevant category certificate issued by a competent authority.
