Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) will close web-option entry for the Telangana NEET UG 2026 management-quota mop-up phase at 4 PM on October 17. The window applies to eligible MBBS and BDS candidates listed in the university's final management-quota merit list and subsequent addenda or corrigenda.

Eligible candidates can arrange college and category choices for B and C/NRI seats through the private medical admissions portal. KNRUHS opened the window at 2 PM on October 16. Candidates should save and print their final choices before the deadline because allotment will follow the submitted order of preference.

Telangana NEET UG 2026 mop-up web-option schedule

Web-option window opened October 16, 2026 at 2 PM Eligible management-quota merit-list candidates
Last time to save options October 17, 2026 at 4 PM Candidates eligible for B and/or C/NRI categories

The notice covers private medical and dental colleges affiliated to KNRUHS, Army College of Dental Sciences, and Neelima Institute of Medical Sciences affiliated to Anurag University.

Who can submit Telangana management-quota mop-up choices?

A candidate must be NEET UG 2026 qualified, appear in the final management-quota merit list or a later addendum or corrigendum, and use options only for the B and C/NRI categories for which the candidate registered and is eligible.

Candidates who joined and are continuing in an MBBS or BDS seat allotted under management quota in an earlier phase can submit options for the mop-up phase. If a new seat is allotted, the earlier seat is automatically cancelled and becomes available to another candidate.

The following candidates cannot exercise options in this phase:

  • Candidates allotted a seat in an earlier counselling phase who did not report or who discontinued the course.
  • Candidates who did not exercise web options in the first counselling phase.
  • Candidates named in the MBBS or BDS competent-authority-quota mop-up allotment list.
  • Candidates admitted through MCC counselling up to the third phase, as notified on the MCC website.

How to arrange and save web options

  1. Open the Telangana private medical admissions portal used for management-quota counselling.
  2. Log in with the registered details and enter the six-letter capital-code password sent to the registered mobile number.
  3. Select only colleges and B or C/NRI categories that the candidate is genuinely willing and eligible to join.
  4. Arrange every choice in the actual order of preference. Allotment follows that order.
  5. Save the choices before 4 PM on October 17 and take a printout of the saved options.

KNRUHS has not set a numerical limit on choices. Candidates may include every course and college they are prepared to join, even when the displayed matrix does not currently show a vacancy, because seats can arise through sliding during allotment. This should not be read as advice to select an unwanted college: the penalty rules make speculative choices costly.

Special seat and category rules

  • In management-quota B category, 85% of seats are reserved for Telangana local candidates and 15% are open across India. The 15% unreserved seats are allotted first.
  • Management-quota seats in private minority medical colleges are reserved for Muslim minority candidates. If such candidates are unavailable, up to 30% may be filled by non-minority candidates during the final phase.
  • Army College of Dental Sciences management-quota seats are reserved for wards of Army personnel under AWES regulations.
  • Candidates are considered only for the B and C/NRI categories in which they registered.

The university also reported an increase in the MBBS intake of TRR Institute of Medical Sciences and Mediciti Institute of Medical Sciences from 150 to 200 seats each. Half of the enhanced seats are shown under competent authority quota and the other half under management quota.

University fee after allotment

Course B category university fee C/NRI category university fee
MBBS INR 1,00,000 INR 2,00,000
BDS INR 40,000 INR 80,000

The university fee is paid online before downloading the allotment order. A candidate who paid it in an earlier phase does not pay it again. KNRUHS states that the university fee is non-refundable.

Tuition is separate and is paid to the allotted college. For Neelima Institute of Medical Sciences, the notice specifies annual tuition of INR 16,50,000 for B category and INR 24,75,000 for C/NRI category. Tuition for other institutions follows the applicable Telangana government order.

Penalty for not joining or discontinuing

Candidates should submit only choices they are ready to accept. If a candidate receives an allotment from the options submitted in this phase but does not join, KNRUHS says the penalty clause applies: INR 20 lakh and a three-year debarment from MBBS and BDS admissions under the university.

A candidate admitted in the mop-up phase is not permitted to withdraw or discontinue afterward. The same INR 20 lakh discontinuation penalty and three-year debarment apply under the stated government rules. The notice specifically advises candidates not to enter options for a college they do not intend to join.

What to do after seat allotment

Allotted candidates should check the portal even if they receive an SMS. They must pay the university fee where required, download the allotment order and report to the allotted medical or dental college by the date printed on that order.

Admission is completed only after reporting with original certificates or the permitted custodian certificate, submitting the relevant bonds and paying the tuition or college fee. Failure to complete these steps by the joining deadline automatically cancels the admission and activates the notified penalty clause.

Candidates allotted an NRI seat must produce the original sponsorship letter from the NRI relative along with the sponsor's passport, visa or residence proof and bank statement or passbook at the allotted college.

KNRUHS issued a merit-list corrigendum on October 17

KNRUHS published a one-entry corrigendum to the management-quota merit list on October 17 under an order of the Telangana High Court. Because the counselling notice makes the final merit list and all later addenda or corrigenda part of the eligibility check, candidates should verify the latest university list before attempting to enter options.
