GATE 2024 Registration is expected to open by 24 August 2023 as per the official notification of the Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru. GATE 2024 portal for admission has been launched for admission to both UG and PG level subjects in arts, commerce, and science courses.

GATE 2024 exam will be administered in a computer-based test (CBT) mode, encompassing a comprehensive array of 30 subject papers and 82 distinct paper combinations. This examination will span 219 designated exam cities nationwide, facilitating a widespread reach. Interested candidates can apply till 19 September 2023. 

Candidates can take the opportunity to appear in the exam by choosing one or two papers from two paper combinations. Candidates can avail of the GATE 2024 for 3 years from the date of the announcement of the result. 

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) 2024 exam is a prominent national-level examination conducted for assessing the comprehensive understanding of various engineering and science subjects. This is the gateway for admission to postgraduate programs like M.Tech, M.E., Ph.D., and other research-based courses at renowned institutes and universities across India.

GATE 2024 Exam Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the required eligibility criteria before applying for the GATE 2024 Exam. The eligibility criteria are listed below:

  • Candidates presently enrolled in the 3rd year or higher of an undergraduate degree program or those who have successfully completed a government-approved degree in Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture, or Humanities are eligible to participate in GATE 2024.
  • Candidates who hold certifications from professional societies should verify that these examinations have been recognized by relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Education (MoE), the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the University Grants Commission (UGC), or the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)
  • GATE 2024 Exam doesn't require any age bar.

How to Apply for GATE 2024?

Given below are the step to apply for GATE Exam:

  • Visit the GOAPS portal and complete the GATE 2024 registration process.
  • Fill GATE 2024 Application Form.
  • Upload scanned images of requisite documents.
  • Pay GATE registration fee.
  • Preview of filled application form of GATE 2024.
  • Submit the GATE registration 2024.

Marking Scheme Questions carry 1 mark and 2 marks
Negative Marking For a wrong answer chosen in a MCQ, there will be negative marking.
For a 1-mark MCQ, 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
Likewise, for a 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
No negative marking for wrong answer(s) to MSQ or NAT questions. There is no partial marking in MSQ.
