GATE COAP 2023 started on May 21. The process is being conducted in 5 Rounds with last round deadline being June 19, 2023. IIT Kharagpur will release the seat allotment result for each Round of GATE 2023 COAP, which is for MTech Admission. Candidates can check their seat allotment results on the official website of Coordinating Institute for Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP 2023) at coap.iitkgp.ac.in.

To access their IIT MTech Admission 2023 offers, candidates need to log in to the GATE COAP 2023 website at coap.iitkgp.ac.in using their registration ID and password. The COAP 2023 will shortlist candidates for admission to participating institutes based on their GATE scores.

GATE 2023 Exam was conducted in February on the 4th, 5th, 11th, and 12th. GATE results were announced on 16 March 2023. IITs and GATE participating institutes will consider candidates with valid GATE 2023 scores for admission to their MTech programs.

GATE COAP provides a common platform for registered candidates to seek admission to graduate programs in participating institutes or job offers from participating Public Sector Units (PSUs). Aspirants who wish to be admitted to the M.Tech program need to separately apply to the respective IITs for M.Tech admission.

GATE COAP 2023 counseling for all rounds (1,2,3,4,5) is entirely free and is done in online mode. Candidates need to GATE eligibility criteria before commencing the counseling process. Give below are the steps to register for GATE COAP 2023 Counseling:

• GATE counseling can only be accessed by candidates who qualify for GATE. 
• GATE Qualified candidates can register their name through GATE COAP 2023 portal @coap.iitkgp.ac.in.

GATE COAP 2023 Counseling Options

GATE COAP 2023 has three options for counseling options:

• Accept and Freeze: Candidates who are consistent to accept the available offers and they need to click on the “Accept and Freeze” option and needs to click submit button to confirm the submission. With this option candidates will not move with another round.
• Retain and Wait: In this option candidates are partial with their decision. They can chose this option if they want to upgrade in the next round.
• Reject and Wait: In this case, the candidate should choose this option if he/she does not wish to accept any of the current round's offers of admission.
