GATE 2027 registration began on the GOAPS portal at goaps.iitm.ac.in on 2 September 2026. You can register for GATE 2027 till 27 September 2027 without a late fee. With a late fee, you can register for GATE 2027 from 28 September to 5 October 2028.
- You can register for GATE 2027 on the official website at gate2027.iitm.ac.in.
- You must have completed a bachelor’s degree or be in the 3rd year of your degree program to register for GATE 2027.
- You must upload a photograph (JPEG/JPG, 530x690 px, 600KB) and signature (JPEG/JPG, 250x80 to 580x180 px, 300KB).
- GATE 2027 application correction window will be available from 14 October to 21 October 2026.
- GATE 2027 registration fee for Female/SC/ST/PwD is INR 1000, and for all other candidates is INR 2000.

GATE 2027 Registration- Eligibility Criteria
Before registering for GATE 2027, students must check the respective counselling websites for eligibility criteria.
- If you have a higher degree than the ones mentioned below, you will be able to sit for GATE 2027.
- Candidates who are in the 3rd year or higher and have completed the government-approved program are eligible to opt for GATE 2027.

GATE 2027 Application- Step-by-Step Process
Visit the official portal (official website) for GATE 2027 registration and select 'Register for GATE 2027 '. GATE 2027 registration will be done through DigiLocker only.
- Step 1- The very first step is to visit the portal and register for GATE 2027. You must register for GATE 2027 and have an active DigiLocker account.
- Step 2- Register for GATE 2027 by clicking one of the 2 options: Indian or Foreign National.
- Step 3 - Click “Continue with DigiLocker” and accept the guidelines for the further GATE 2027 process. You have to create a folder inside DigiLocker named “GATE2027” to upload your documents.
- Step 4- You will be redirected to the DigiLocker portal and have to sign in with your mobile number for GATE 2027.
- Step 5- You will receive an OTP on the mobile number and the email address for verification.
- Step 6: Give access to all the documents from DigiLocker, and then you will be directed to the Application Status. Click and proceed.
- Step 7- Enter your name, birth date, nationality, and click a live photo. Next, upload your coloured photograph and signature.
- Step 8- Select the number of test papers, your preferred 6 cities for the exam, and your paper. Enter your qualification details.
- Step 9- Verify your personal details, enter your parents' names, nationality, and click Verify.
- Step 10- The next step is to pay the online fee. You can pay online and pay the fee via credit or debit card.
- Save and print - Review. Print and save the registration slip and choice slip for further rounds.

Documents Required for GATE 2027 Application
The most important documents for the GATE 2027 registration process are the rank card and your government-approved ID to prove your identity. Certificates, marksheets, and photographs are mandatory.
- The format of the photo uploaded should be JPEG or JPG with white background and within 600kb.
- The format of the signature uploaded should be JPG or JPEG, within 3 to 300 KB with black or dark blue ink used.
