CAT 2026 Admit Card Release Date

The admit card is for candidates whose online application was submitted successfully. It is downloaded through the CAT account, not mailed to a postal address. A User ID created during registration is not, by itself, proof of a completed application.

The CAT schedule separates this November release from the registration and correction stages, which have already closed.

How to Download the CAT Admit Card

• Open iimcat.ac.in and select Registered Candidate Login.
• Enter your CAT 2026 User ID and current password.
• After release, open the admit card in the candidate account.
• Download it, check the details and print the card for the examination.

If you have forgotten the credentials, select Forgot User ID/Password and enter the registered email address and captcha. Recovery details are sent to that email; regenerated passwords are not sent by SMS. The CAT login guide also explains the submitted-application and grievance tabs.

The examination requires the printed admit card. Keep the downloaded file for another print if needed, but do not rely only on a phone display at the centre.

Details on the Admit Card

The official FAQ lists the candidate name, test date, PwD status, test-centre details, examination session and time on the admit card. Compare these with the submitted application and your identity documents.

A preferred city is not an allotted centre address. The CAT exam-centre list describes city options; the admit card identifies the actual venue. Requests to change the allotted centre are not accepted, and candidates cannot choose another shift.

Photograph, Identity and Special Documents

Affix the same photograph uploaded in the CAT application to the printed admit card. The registration guide requires a recent photograph with a white background; retaining matching printed copies avoids using a different image.

A medical exception needs the authority's permission letter, which must be produced at the centre in addition to routine screening. Merely carrying a prescription is not the same as completing this authorization process.

A scribe must bring valid identity proof and a passport photograph and sign a declaration of educational qualification at the venue. The FAQ requires the scribe's qualification to be one step below the candidate's.

Using the Admit Card on Exam Day

Do not write or do rough work on the admit card. CAT treats this as use of unfair means. The centre supplies a scribble pad and pen for rough work, and the pad is collected after the test. The FAQ allows an additional standard-size pad on request for PwBD candidates with blindness or low vision.

You may appear only in the allotted session, once in the CAT 2026 cycle. Admit cards, photo IDs, photographs and biometric details are used for verification. A second attempt in another slot is not allowed.

Personal calculators are prohibited; an on-screen calculator is provided. If a technical problem occurs during the test, inform the invigilator. The official FAQ says the timer is paused during an authorised system change, so that change does not reduce the available test time.

Missing Admit Card or Incorrect Details

Before the scheduled release, a missing admit-card tab is not evidence of an application error. After release, a successfully registered candidate who cannot view the card should raise a ticket in the Grievance tab inside the candidate login.

For incorrect details, compare the card with the downloaded application and identify the mismatch. Attach the relevant record, with the User ID, through the grievance facility; up to three supporting files are allowed. Do not alter the downloaded admit card yourself.

The academic helpdesk handles eligibility/category/PwBD-certificate questions rather than technical download issues. A request to correct a mismatch is also different from asking for a preferred centre or session.
