CAT 2020 exam is conducted on November 29, 2020 in three shifts by IIM Indore. Previously the exam was scheduled for three hours but due to the pandemic, the exam was scheduled for two hours. CAT 2020 consisted of 76 questions with a total mark of 228 marks. The VARC section of the paper consisted of 26 questions, LRDI consisted of 24 questions and the QA section consisted of 26 questions. The exam duration in the pre-pandemic was 180 minutes which was reduced to 120 minutes due to the pandemic outbreak.

  • The exam was of moderate to difficult level with a few tougher questions. 
  • CAT VARC consisted of 70% of the reading comprehension-based questions. 
  • While CAT DILR consisted relatively easier than the previous years. 
  • CAT QA was moderate to more difficult than the previous years.

Ques. What is the strategy for the exam day?

Ans: The candidates must attempt the easier set of questions on the first go. In the second go, the candidates must attempt the moderate questions and the difficult questions should be done at the end by the candidates in the exam.

Ques. Is there any sectional cut-off for the calls of the top B schools in India?

Ans: As per the previously conducted examinations it has been seen that the top B schools like the IIMs. FMS and the other non-IIMS call for the interview to the students based on the cut-off range of 80+ percentile with the overall cut-off of more than 95+ percentile for the general candidates.

Ques. Is it possible to score 95%ile in the exam in three months?

Ans: Yes, the candidates can score 95%ile in the three months with a clear idea of the basics of the different subjects.

Ques. How many slots are available in the CAT 2020 exam?

Ans. CAT 2020 is conducted in the three slots i.e. morning, afternoon and evening slots. Previously the exam was scheduled for three hours but due to the pandemic, the exam was scheduled for two hours.

Hello Abhishek! If you have successfully registered at the official NTA website to avail the facility of the Test Practice Centre then you can visit the Centre. Your parents may drop you at the test centre but they will not be allowed to enter the test centre during the exam or practise mock tests.

The selection process for admission to LNMU varies depending on the course:

  1. BTech - Candidates must have a valid JEE Main scorecard and register for counselling and seat allotment.
  2. MTech - Candidates must have a GATE scorecard and a relevant BTech/BE degree.
  3. MBA - Final selection is based on performance in entrance exams, group discussions, and personal interviews.

For Undergraduate courses, applicants must have a completed 12th grade with 45% aggregate marks, 40% aggregate for restricted categories. 

For Postgraduate courses, applicants must complete their graduation with at least 50% of their degree in their respective stream from an accredited university. 45% aggregate marks for SC/ST students.
