CAT 2017 was a Computer Based Exam conducted by IIM Lucknow on November 26, 2017 in two shifts. The Minimum Eligibility Criteria to apply for CAT is a bachelor's degree with an aggregate of 50% for the General Category and 45% for SC/ST.

- The CAT 2017 Slot 1 Question paper was divided into 3 sections i.e, VARC, QA, DILR, and had a total of 100 questions, it was a 300 marks exam.
- VARC section had 34 questions out of which 23 were Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and the rest were Non Multiple Choice Questions (Non- MCQs).

- In CAT 2017 34 Questions were asked in the Quantitative Ability (QA) section. This section comprises 28 MCQs and 11 Non-MCQs Questions based on Number systems, Geometry and Mensuration, Algebra and Arithmetics, and Miscellaneous Maths.
- The Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) section was examined as the most difficult section in the CAT 2017 Question paper.

Ans: For every correct answer 3 marks were given. No marks are awarded for unattempted questions. For every incorrect answer, 1 mark was deducted and no negative marking for non-multiple-choice questions (Non- MCQs).

The selection process for admission to LNMU varies depending on the course:
- BTech - Candidates must have a valid JEE Main scorecard and register for counselling and seat allotment.
- MTech - Candidates must have a GATE scorecard and a relevant BTech/BE degree.
