IIM Kashipur CAT 2026 Cutoff

IIM Kashipur has not published its CAT 2026 MBA admission policy. The latest domestic MBA policy is for the 2026-28 intake using CAT 2025. That intake used JAP 2026, whose initial registration floors were:

Candidates also needed a positive scaled score in VARC, DILR and QA. Meeting the overall floor without the sectional and academic conditions did not satisfy registration eligibility.

These are pre-interview registration floors, not the final PI-shortlist cutoff. JAP selected a smaller interview pool from registered candidates and could set higher category-wise thresholds for that stage.

The older table still displayed on Kashipur's MBA page is expressly labelled CAT 2024. Its General value of 95 should not be read as a confirmed CAT 2026 cutoff. The CAT cutoff guide explains the difference between registration, interview and admission thresholds.

JAP Registration and Kashipur Admission

Kashipur, Raipur, Ranchi and Tiruchirappalli shared JAP 2026, coordinated by IIM Raipur. Registration, shortlisting and PI were common parts of that intake's process; each institute made its own final admission decision.

An invitation email asked eligible applicants to register before the specified date and time. Failing to register ended consideration. A successful registration did not automatically create an interview call.

The separate PI notification gave the date, time and venue through email and the JAP portal. Candidates needed to attend the assigned interview and comply with original-document verification.

After PI, Kashipur added its CAT, academic, professional-qualification, work and diversity components to create its own merit order. A shared interview did not mean the four institutes would issue identical offers or ask for one common fee deposit.

The IIM admission criteria include institute-specific conditions after a common interview. MBA Analytics and overseas admission at Kashipur have separate policies; the domestic flagship MBA formula below should not be applied to them.

Kashipur Final Selection Weights

The CAT contribution was candidate's CAT score / highest CAT score x 41. Class 10 and Class 12 were scored separately as percentage / 100 x 2. For example, 82.5% in Class 10 contributes 1.65 points; it is not rounded into a school-mark band.

Graduation used bands rather than the linear school formula:

Exactly 70% earned two graduation points, while a value above 70% and up to 75% earned three. Exactly 80% earned four; the five-point band began above 80%. The lower bands are a scoring scale, not permission to disregard the academic eligibility requirements.

CA, CS or ICWA qualification contributed a separate two points. PI contributed 25, while all non-PI components totalled 75. The final merit score was their sum, not CAT percentile plus PI marks.

The official formula did not assign a separate WAT or group-discussion weight. Its PI component was part of the common interview process; the CAT interview guide covers that stage.

Work Experience: Points and Eligible Employment

JAP counted eligible full-time paid experience in completed months up to 31 December 2025, starting after the declaration of graduation or CA/ICWA(CMA)/CS results. Valid work needed supporting TDS, provident-fund or professional-tax evidence where applicable.

The maximum 15 points covered more than 18 and up to 30 months. Exactly 18 months earned seven; 19 months earned 15. After 30 months the points dropped to five, and more than 36 months earned zero.

The JAP policy excluded:

• Pre-graduation, part-time, project, internship and articleship work
• Work before CA/ICWA(CMA)/CS qualification
• Fellowship or unpaid work
• Salary received in cash or through UPI apps
• Work as owner of a partnership firm or sole proprietorship, or as part of a family enterprise
• Work as partner, director, CEO or in another position in a company that paid no GST or had turnover below GST limits

Those business and salary exclusions were specific to JAP's work-credit rules. An employment arrangement may exist in practice but still fail the admissions evidence conditions. Other IIMs' self-employment rules should not be substituted here.

Work and qualification records could be checked again by the admitting institute. Acceptance of a document at the interview did not settle final eligibility or validate an unsupported claim.

Academic and Gender Diversity

The MBA formula assigned two points for a qualifying academic discipline and six for female or transgender applicants. The academic table listed these discipline groups and examples:

The policy used an illustrative list within several groups, so the degree's actual discipline matters more than a broad label such as non-engineer. It named architecture, computer applications and pharmacy explicitly; it did not provide two points simply for every degree that is not BTech.

Academic and gender diversity appeared as separate components in Kashipur's table. A candidate satisfying both could receive two plus six points. The non-stacking rule used by some other IIMs should not be imported into this formula.

A professional qualification could also be considered under the separate two-point CA/CS/ICWA component, subject to the applicable qualification and document requirements. A planned or uncompleted credential should not be entered as an awarded qualification.

Final-Year Documents, APAAR and Withdrawal

JAP registration required an APAAR ID. PwD applicants needed a valid UDID card and had to meet the benchmark-disability definition. All applicants needed the relevant original academic, category, work and professional documents for PI; failure to produce a required original could disqualify them from the interview.

For final-year bachelor's or CA/CMA(ICWA)/CS candidates, and those awaiting results after completing requirements, the latest completed trimester, semester or year marks were used for the initial academic check.

Provisional joining for the 2026-28 intake required a Principal/Registrar certificate issued and submitted by 30 June 2026, confirming completion of all qualification requirements. Final results, original certificates and marksheets with copies were due as soon as issued and no later than 30 September 2026. Failure to meet the final marks or proof conditions could cancel admission.

Kashipur's historical withdrawal rule distinguished the start of orientation/induction from later teaching dates. A request submitted through the online admissions portal before orientation and induction began qualified for a refund after an INR 1,000 processing deduction. On or after that commencement date, only caution money was refundable.

The policy stated that refund processing would follow one month after withdrawal. The application fee was non-refundable. These deadlines and refund rules belong to the 2026-28 intake, not the future CAT 2026 admission offer.

JAP did not provide an automatic right to defer admission to a later year. Any such decision rested with the individual institute.
