CAT 2026 Correction Window Dates

The correction facility opened at 10 AM on 5 October and closed at 5 PM on 6 October 2026. It was available only to candidates who had successfully registered and paid the application fee.

The payment extension and correction window served different purposes. Neither allowed a new candidate to register after 22 September. The CAT registration page gives the complete application sequence.

What Could Be Changed in the CAT Form?

The correction window was not a complete reopening of the form. In particular, graduation marks were not among the fields listed for editing. A candidate who entered the wrong category could not use this facility to switch categories.

During the window, eligible candidates signed in through Registered Candidate Login, changed the permitted details and submitted the corrected form. The saved application, rather than an unsaved preview, is the record to keep. Now that the facility has closed, the remaining route for an unresolved issue is a grievance, not a new edit submission.

Photograph and Signature Corrections

A replacement image had to meet the same specifications as the original upload. Both files were limited to 80 KB each in JPG/JPEG format, with a minimum resolution of 150 pixels per inch.

The photograph should have a white background and be no more than six months old. It is also the photograph to retain for the printed admit card. Do not confuse the photo's pixel dimensions with the signature limit expressed in millimetres. The CAT image specifications cover these separately.

Changing Test-City Preferences

The notice allowed changes to test state/city preferences, not direct selection of a centre or examination shift. The application collected five different test cities; the same city could not be repeated in multiple preference positions.

Allotment depends on availability. Normally one of the preferred cities is allotted, but a nearby city may be assigned in an exceptional case. A preference is therefore not a guarantee of a particular venue. The allotted centre and session appear on the CAT admit card, and requests to change the allotted centre are not accepted.

What If an Error Remains After Closure?

Download the submitted application from Registered Candidate Login and identify the exact field and error. For a registration, upload or application-processing problem, use the Grievance tab and its plus button to create a ticket. You can attach up to three supporting files.

Keep the User ID and, for payment issues, the Payment Transaction Number available. The registration guide asks candidates to allow at least two working days for a grievance response. Reporting a problem does not itself change the saved application or extend the correction deadline.

If the concern is whether a qualification or category certificate meets the rules, use the academic helpdesk. Technical login or payment issues belong with the candidate helpdesk. The two desks have different roles.
