What's New In CAT Result 2025?
CAT result 2025 has been released on 24 December 2025 on the official website at iimcat.ac.in. IIM Kozhikode conducted CAT 2025 on 30 November 2025.
- This year, the CAT result is published after 23 days of conducting the CAT examination.
- Last year, the CAT result was published after 25 days of CAT examination.
- According to IIM Kozhikode, this year, 2.95 lakh candidates registered for CAT 2026 and out of these, only 2.58 lakh candidates appeared for the examination.

CAT Result Date: Previous Years’ Trends
If you’re wondering “When will CAT 2025 result be declared?”, past year data gives us a pretty clear picture. Over the last five years, the IIMs have mostly released results within 3–4 weeks of the exam.
- In 2022, 2023, and 2024, the CAT result was declared in just 24–25 days.
- Only in 2020 and 2021, during the COVID years, did the result take longer (about 34–36 days).

CAT Result 2025: Answer Key
Before the release of the CAT results, IIM Kozhikode released the CAT 2025 answer key on 4 December 2025. Along with the answer for CAT 2025, response sheets of candidates were also released.
- You can download the CAT 2025 response sheet and answer key by visiting the official website at iimcat.ac.in.
- You can raise objections against discrepancies in CAT questions using the CAT objection window.
- CAT objection window will be available for 2-3 days, and for each question, you must pay INR 1,200.

CAT Result 2025: Score Calculation
Using the answer key and response sheet of CAT 2025, you can predict your scores. CAT score can be calculated based on the CAT marking scheme as mentioned below.
- For each correct answer, you score 3 marks.
- For each incorrect MCQ, you score -1 mark.
- No negative marking is applicable for TITA questions.
Based on the above marking scheme, you can calculate CAT 2025 Raw Score as below.
Total CAT score=Total Correct Answers*3-Total Incorrect Answers*1
Your total CAT score will be used to calculate the CAT percentile score as per the guidelines prescribed by the conducting authority. Your score will determine your rank in CAT 2025, and based on your rank, you will get a percentile score, which is calculated as follows.
- P=(R/N)*100
Where,
- P is the percentile score.
- R is the number of students scoring less than your score.
- N is the total number of candidates who appeared for CAT 2025.

According to IIM Kozhikode, CAT 2025 witnessed 2.95 lakh registrations and out of these 2.58 lakh candidates appeared for the examination. Last year, 3.29 lakh candidates registered for CAT 2025 and 2.93 lakh candidates appeared for the examination.

CAT Toppers List
CAT topper list is yet to be published by IIM Kozhikode and will be available only after the release of CAT result 2025. You can check the last years’ CAT topper list below.
- In CAT 2024, engineers dominated the list, with 13 of the 14 perfect scorers from that background.
- Female representation at the top was low; one female candidate did make it to the 100th percentile, which is an encouraging sign.
- Maharashtra produced the maximum toppers, and West Bengal stood out in the 99.98 percentile group.
- The results also show how close the race was, with just a mark or two often separating candidates at 100 from those at 99.98 percentiles.

CAT Result 2025: Score vs Percentile
The CAT score vs. percentile is calculated based on the difficulty level of the CAT 2025 examination, the number of candidates, and other factors. This year, CAT was difficult than last year, and the scores are likely to translate to higher percentile scores this year.

Ques. Is CAT score valid for 2 Years?
And. No, the CAT score remains valid for just one academic year. For instance, the CAT 2025 score can only be used for admissions to the 2026–28 MBA/PGDM batch. It cannot be carried forward for the next admission cycle.
Ques. Which IIM has the lowest CAT score?
Ans. Among the IIMs, the newer ones, such as IIM Jammu, IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Sirmaur, and IIM Sambalpur, usually have the lowest CAT cut-offs. For the General category, the cut-off typically falls around the 92–94 percentile, while it is lower for reserved categories. The older, more established IIMs generally set much higher cut-offs, often above the 98–99 percentile.
Ques. How many marks is 99 percentile in CAT?
Ans. Getting 99 percentile in CAT generally requires a score in the range of 95-100 marks out of 198. However, the exact score isn’t the same every year-it shifts depending on how tough the paper is and how other candidates perform. For instance, in CAT 2023, those who scored around 96-100 marks managed to secure the 99 percentile.
Ques. What is the CAT cutoff for IIM?
Ans. The CAT cutoff isn’t the same for every IIM. Prestigious ones like Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta generally look for candidates with around the 99 percentile, while the newer IIMs often consider scores in the 90–95 percentile range, with lower cutoffs for reserved categories.
