CAT 2025 DILR Structure

Each 2025 DILR slot had 22 questions across five sets, with a 40-minute standard timer. Three sets had four questions and two had five. That is not equivalent to five equally weighted chapters.

CAT 2025 DILR Slot 1 Sets

Slot 1 moved between dynamic arrangements, cumulative employee ratings, trade calculations, route occupancy and coded responses. The train set required segment-wise accounting; a through-passenger occupied several segments.

The ratings set combined quarter-wise ratings with cumulative scores and transfers. A locally plausible ranking was not enough unless it also fitted the later group changes.

CAT 2025 DILR Slot 2 Sets

Slot 2 included size ordering, weighted averages, authorship counts, index changes and multi-year training schedules. The ball-and-hoop set asked what was necessarily true, making the distinction between a possible order and a forced order important.

The pollution set combined distinct values with state assignments and weighted averages. The musician set linked consecutive training intervals, teacher capacity and overlaps between students.

CAT 2025 DILR Slot 3 Sets

Slot 3 combined call-flow totals, currency conversion, progress charts, a circular passing game and international trade. Currency questions required costs expressed in different units to be converted consistently.

The trade set distinguished exports minus imports from exports plus imports. Confusing trade balance with total trade changes the meaning of the stated percentage, even if the arithmetic is otherwise correct.

DILR Difficulty and Attempt Interpretation

IMS described DILR as moderate to difficult in all three 2025 slots. Its comparative review placed Slot 2 above Slot 1 in difficulty, with Slot 3 between them. Those are coaching assessments, not official score-adjustment values.

Set size alone does not determine a sensible attempt target. Two five-question sets offer ten questions, while two four-question sets offer eight, and the setup work can differ. A partially solved set can still contain answerable questions, but only conclusions supported by the shared conditions are valid.

Attempt count alone does not establish a percentile. Correctness and response type affect raw marks, while the official result involves score processing and relative performance.

For an original illustration, 10 correct answers of either type and 3 wrong MCQs give 30 - 3 = 27 raw marks. Ten correct answers and 3 wrong TITA answers give 30 raw marks. Both attempts contain 13 responses, but the scores differ.

A reported difficult paper does not tell you a fixed number of marks that will be added during normalization. Nor does a past-year good-attempt estimate establish a current admission threshold. The CAT score calculation and score-versus-percentile guide explain the separate measures.

For a useful DILR practice review, record the time used, correct answers, wrong MCQs, wrong typed responses and blanks. Then identify the reason for each error rather than treating every lost mark as a need to attempt more.
