IIM Udaipur CAT 2026 Cutoff

IIM Udaipur has not announced its CAT 2026 admission criteria for the MBA 2027-29 batch. Its published selection policy covers CAT 2025 and the MBA 2026-28 intake, with a planned batch of 375. These are the previous-cycle registration thresholds:

Every applicable sectional floor matters alongside the overall percentile. For example, a General applicant with 96 overall but 74 in QA did not meet the displayed initial criteria. A high total did not offset a low section.

These numbers determined consideration for the registration and shortlist process, not guaranteed admission. The institute could raise or lower the relevant floors to obtain the required category-wise interview pool. From Registration to the PI Call

Udaipur used its own registration and profile-screening sequence for this intake. Meeting the initial cutoffs led to an email inviting mandatory online registration; the email itself was not an interview call. Missing the registration deadline ended further consideration.

The next shortlist used CAT 2025 performance and the profile in the CAT application: Class 10, Class 12, graduation, work experience and gender diversity. Only applicants selected after this step received a PI invitation.

After receiving that invitation, candidates could update school marks, graduation marks and work experience in the IIMU application. The institute used this IIMU-form data for the post-interview profile score.

Interviews were arranged in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and the IIM Udaipur campus, with morning and afternoon sessions. Applicants had to enter at least three location preferences; the final centre allocation remained with the institute. A preferred city was not a confirmed venue until allocated.

This process should not be replaced with an old CAP schedule. Other institutes may share interviews or follow a different sequence; the IIM shortlisting criteria depend on the institute and intake.

Final Selection: CAT Score, Interview and Profile

The CAT contribution was candidate's CAT score / highest CAT score among applicants who applied to IIMU and attended PI x 55. It used the CAT score, not the percentile and not a fixed maximum paper score.

For a calculation example, a score of 100 against a qualifying-pool maximum of 150 would contribute 36.67 out of 55. Substituting a 100 percentile into the numerator would calculate a different quantity and give the wrong result.

PI contributed 25%, while the remaining 20% covered academic profile, work experience and diversity. The published page assigned six, six and eight points to those profile components respectively. It did not supply a complete set of sub-bands to turn every school percentage or work duration into a final profile score.

Candidates also had to clear a minimum PI score set by the institute. A strong CAT result could not compensate for failing that qualifying interview condition. The page did not state a numeric PI minimum, so a particular mark cannot be treated as the official passing score.

This was a CAT-plus-PI-and-profile process. The final-score table did not assign a separate WAT or GD weight. The CAT interview guide covers interview preparation without assuming that every IIM uses the same assessment mix.

School Marks, Graduation and CGPA

All Class 10 and Class 12 subjects counted, even where a board used fewer subjects to calculate its displayed aggregate. The school rule and the university's graduation rule were not interchangeable.

A candidate with completed CA/ICWA/CS but no bachelor's degree used the average of the Intermediate and Final percentages as the bachelor's-equivalent mark. A current degree student used the completed years or semesters rather than entering a predicted final result.

For CGPA, the university's authorised conversion took priority. The proportional formula applied only when the institution did not provide a conversion rule. For example, 8 on a 10-point scale would become 80% under that fallback; it would not override a university formula producing a different percentage.

Where a board or institution awarded only letter grades, applicants needed an official certificate specifying equivalent marks and had to produce the original when requested. An unofficial conversion chart was not equivalent evidence.

An integrated or dual degree did not automatically justify entering only the strongest semesters. Completed qualifications followed university norms; ongoing qualifications used the completed-year or semester figures in the IIMU form.

Work Experience and Self-Employment Documents

Work experience for the 2026-28 selection process was counted up to 31 January 2026. Eligible days across one or more employers were added and divided by 30; the integer part of that result gave completed months. The work had to follow the minimum educational qualification specified for the relevant CAT cycle.

For example, two eligible tenures totalling 430 days would give 14 completed months, not 14.33 months. This converts documented service into months; it does not reveal the unpublished points within Udaipur's six-point work component.

The following did not count as work experience:

• Internships, projects, part-time and pre-graduation employment
• CA/CMA/CS articleship or training
• Unpaid work and fellowships
• Jobs paid in cash or through UPI apps

The self-employment, partnership and own-start-up document list covered the following records, as applicable:

• Registered partnership deed
• Registrar of Companies filing
• GST registration
• Firm PAN card
• Income-tax returns
• Firm bank-account statement
• Statutory auditor appointment
• Purchase or work orders covering the claimed period of operations
• MSME certificate, where applicable
• DIPP Certificate of Recognition, where applicable

The documents had to identify the firm, its registration number and the applicant as a promoter or director. The operations record also needed to support the duration claimed. A business name or an informal statement of ownership did not establish the entire work period.

The cash/UPI exclusion concerned the form of salary payment in the admissions policy. It should not be treated as a general statement about whether those payment methods are lawful.

Reservation, Acceptance Fee and Withdrawal

The policy followed the categories notified for CAT 2025. Category eligibility and documentary proof remained separate from the score needed for an interview. The CAT reservation guide explains the category-certificate requirements for the current exam cycle.

An applicant accepting an offer for the 2026-28 batch had to pay INR 1,00,000 by the offer deadline. This was an acceptance payment, not the full two-year MBA fee.

Withdrawal within the institute's specified early deadline allowed a refund after an INR 1,000 service deduction. The policy stated that, from 7 July 2026 onward, academic fees would not be refunded; only hostel and mess charges on a proportionate basis, plus the INR 20,000 caution deposit, remained refundable.

The institute said eligible refunds would be processed after 6 July 2026 and could take up to 30 working days to reach the account. These dates and amounts relate to that completed intake, not a payment window for CAT 2026 applicants.

The next admission offer will set its own acceptance and withdrawal dates. An older offer amount should not be used to make a payment before receiving a valid offer for the relevant intake.
